You guys know there are two packages being sold by the firm now...
the 3.0L "THUNDER" and the 2.5L "HURRICANE"

does anyone know if the 2.5L Manual HURRICANE comes with the TDCi Common Rail engine?

Max rim size

It is definitely not 20" the max is 18's. I bought 3 litre and got them to mount them up for me. I wouldnt go bigger than that anyways, you will lose power and acceleration and cause extra strain on your clutch. 285/60 18 is the ideal size, the stock wheels it comes with are definitely too small for the power and feels quite loose pulling off hard and at highway speeds.

i think the Ford 3.0 is in a class by it self, the engine is remarkably power full and when you think about the top end speed man just hold on. i had bought the 2.5 4x2 and when i sat in the 3.0 i felt like selling my 2.5 :) but i still made the best out of what i had, like dropping it down enhancing the rims doing a little with the engine and enjoying see does other low pick ups' in my revue mirror it's ah true pick up as the slogan says they are built though

um i drive one almost everyday in the week. i would say that the engine is really powerful, the turbo lags a bit, nice ride, the brakes sucks, very unstable when rain falls and the back seat uncomfortable . The 3 fords that the company have giving trouble engine and transmission . they send it to MAC whatsoever (FORD) and they come back the same way or worst. where as the Mazda older model does take the jamming but the engine just less powerful . well thats just what i think

BTW where the dipstick for the tranny is in the ford? looked everywhere

we bought a ford 2.5l hurricane for our line of work.
last year we went into the blanchiseusse forest to drop some search and rescue personnel and then returned to pick them up later in the day.
rain was falling all day and guess what, the 2 mazdas that were used also, could not go as far as the ranger.
fellas i serious. some people may not like the 2.5l, but it really taking licks on our side and asking if that is all we have.
i have used 2 models of the mazda 4x4(the tby model and the BT50) both really cannot compare in our minds to the ranger. this is after looking at what we use them for :!:

the ford ranger...
it really does have a powerful engine and builds speed really well. Interior is very nice very comfortable for those in front...Not in the back when fully loaded!

6 CD MP3 (what about itunes and wma??) changer....nice ...though... 6* 700MB = 4200MB approx 4.2 GB
think the should just gone with a standard DVD model... one DVD would have been way easier than having to load 6CDs

Air Condition really nice!

Handling....not nice! tires screech too easily for the smallest of turns compared to every other 4*4.... and it tends to skid on wet roads very easily...

yes the van could take licks.... but i keep wondering how much and for how long?

Overall i think its a good van... but i think there is better available...
