Any one knows any defects in the newer Rangers? Auto and Manual

2011/2012 model?

yea thinking about getting one of these......but is there any major faults one should know about?

well the vehicle is still new so problems won't arise as yet - Something to note - new rangers are being imported from South Africa instead of Thailand as the 2007-2010 series.

If you're thinking about the limited model, the waiting list is quite long, about 6-8 months according to the sales rep.

*ps: dey only know what colors come when they get the shipment.

hows the 2.2 versions? any owners of a 2.2 in here?

I have one of the 2.2 version. It work very well, great fuel efficiency. I get greater than 750 km on a tank of diesel.

There are a few with broken axles and diffs waiting on parts. Fuel pump issues as well. Salesmen wouldn't tell u that though.

I was speaking to a guy who is interested in getting one,he wanted to know if i have any issue,
(just a leaking oil filter)
He said M$M is bringing in the wildtrack,he spoke to them and they are selling the wildtrack for $335,000.
I did not verify,but if true then i got screwed.

I would like to have paid 250 or less but i guess it's all based on the demand and supply.
I went pickup cause i can drive through some trails that a sedan cannot go through
then drive on the highway with comparable comfort of a sedan.
For me it was worth it.

I am interested in getting one of these but have been hearing about rear axle problems and issues with transmission. Anyone who actually owns one of these ever had any such issues?

known issues, the model with the 2.5wlt, the 3rd-4th synchro hub breaks, the spigot on the input shaft goes causing a clack clack noise,failure to address this issue causes vibration on the mainshaft causing grating,grinding and eventually the gear will lock....

2013 model, 5 speed gearbox is a waste of time, gear locks in 5th damaging an internal part known as a reverse lock, 5th synchro ring starts to grind away,problem is a manufacturers issue,eventually leading to them replacing it with a 6 speed, the 6 speed box is almost identical to the 2011 ford mustang.
the 5 speed box can be repaired and modded to overcome that issue, problem is ford dont stock gearbox parts and to repair it,parts will have to be shipped in......
