The head does break otherwise it's a perfectly good van. Transmission doesn't give any problems. Simple maintenance and you good

I believe in how you treat your vehicle is how you wud fix.... I’ve got my ranger 8yrs now n neva do anything major on it other Dan changing oil, filter, belts n Injectors tips.... I recently change my thermostat n replace with a substitute in which I’m put me in some problems cuzin me to shut down but I towed it home n replace it with a genuine one from ansa n well it workin Bess.... I neva change shocks, clutch or anything other n I’m doin 125k n rolling on 22” everyday.....

I am looking at an older Ranger and in a similar predicament at the OP. At what mileage does a diesel engine become an issue in terms of maintenance?
