Thing is i ts auto and rwd tranny, is it possible to some how mate this up with the vitara 4wd transfer case so i can still have the 4wd goodness? :P

I heard the Toyota engine will be a good swap too....not sure about the 4x4 functionallity, you can call Harry in cunupia (he has a post with a couple vitaras in the car classified forums a while back)... he will be able to tell you the technical details.

the original vitara diesel engine is real scarce to come by, imagine if he would require parts in future.....

trac it shud not be much problems, biggest problem would be if the tranny comes back too much, then yu will have to move back the t-case, shorten the rear shaft and lenghten the front one, in addition to modifyiny the tranny to t-case shaft....

i know Harry personal, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience..... goodman to deal with..

You could just source a UK diesel vitara (maybe front cut) and do a swap. Since they're very abundant in the UK.
