Very good idea. I have an octavia 1z3 1.6. Mods are a simple retune and lowered suspension. Great car.

Checking in
I one a 1Z 2008 -stock-thats the way the money running for now.(start up business)
But this is really my 2nd skoda-had one as a co car and fell in love with them.
And got 2 friends to buy Skodas on my recc.

I find that they are thoughtfully designed and well built.

My GOAL is by year end to be able to bring in a late model VRS.

I say goal because I was told they not continuing the Skoda line in TnT....so while I WANT to do it it has to be practical after I buy it.

Dcarman-LM is German-so I cant see any issue-used it in the past on my Skoda -nothing negative to report.

redman, we have the same goal! my car was purchased from ecotune. its a pbz 1z3, gold in colour. mods are ecu remappped, pushing 120hp, eibach springs lowered and 18" black rims. its my second skoda, i had the newer model before but sold it.

right now i am experiencing the typical axle vibration issue. i have the cups to replace but the left side stock cup is stuck! pressure

I have to say...
Not one problem.

The co car I drove it out of the show room and one year later after making the Sando POS run for work...no service.....the brakes started making noise on the day I was leaving the job.

The PCJ I'm driving now has 70k...and just replaced the shocks, and evaporator this year.
I have some front end work to do.
The upholstery I restuck a few times...my son used to contemplativly pull it off while in the car.
Smh

Is there support for a new VRS?.....I go and model one every so often on the Skoda website every so often.

I have a pbz model. 113,000kms. No issues thus far. Just hood lining. But today reverse sensors stopped working.
Dont think there is any support for the vrs model locally

You think that this would be an Issue?

Everything we need should be available on line or at other mechs?

Colleague has one PCU, just hit 100,000km and the amount of stuff he had to change - steering rack, radiator fans etc because they became issues... What gives there? Firm rep told him normal for 100,000km

Thats weird. Maybe driving habits? Poor maintenance? At 100,000kms all that was replaced in my car was a door lock switch

Gotta be bro. Thats alot of issues.

Anyone here ever had the axle issue? Where the unner cup wears and you get a vibration on the front end? Its happening to me now. I tried removing the inner cup but its stuck. I am going to make another attempt next week when the relacement joint arrives. This time its goig up on a lift for more leverage. If it cannot be removed then i am going to have to drop transmission.
Also this may sound noob but what grade oil do u guys use in the engine.
