He told his audience he was invited on the grounds that the Opposition leader was going to be there and decided that that was not a good reason to attend.
“That may be a reason for me not to go to the funeral because the population would easily and maybe correctly view my presence and the presence of my other colleagues from Parliament as attempting to politicise this unspeakable sorrow which Andrea’s family, her community, the nation is experiencing,” he said.

I live in a village and theres only ph taxis that work in our area to travel in and out and im guessing in many areas there a ph taxis that are the only transport system to get in and out. I agree that there should be proper regulation, identification and so forth for ph taxis, but you cant fault the entire ph taxi system becuase of 1 incident. There are many good people driving ph taxis to make a honest livingdaring dragoon wrote:

We also see the calls for us to shut our doors today. However, we prefer to help our country in different ways, as we have been silently doing all through the years. We did not publicise the fact that we have partially funded the autopsy done recently, since when we help we do not do it for the publicity but for the mere fact that we want change. We have realised that in a case like this, it is helpful to the conversation to show what we are doing to be part of the change. So while we will not be closing our doors, rest assured that we are always working silently for the betterment of our country. We will always continue to empower women and strive to improve the living conditions of the citizens of our country. We urge everyone to always do their part, to donate, protest or make a difference in whatever way YOU choose, but do not simply do nothing and expect change."

Starlight the 1% gym is closed on Friday so I'm sure it'll have the same effect you're expecting.

If businesses were genuine in their protest, they'd close for much longer to make an impact; one days profit in return for publicity is a decent opportunity cost.
