Hi. Anyone ever had experience in having one removed surgically? Already checked a doctor who diagnosed it as a dermoid type.

Yes, however the one I did was minor surgery and only took about 15 minutes. Not sure if your type of cyst was similar to mine to be done via minor surgery.

did they first try squeezing out all the white pasty poo in it first or punching with a big needle first ?
sometimes after all the crud is squeezed out and a course of antibiotics it will shrink down over time
i have a see one on my chin which doc did that as to cut it would leave scar on point of my chin and may not scar smooth. it shrank to almost nothing.

Cyst removal

Postby eitech » July 18th, 2023, 5:35 pm

Thought it was a pimple but realized it getting bigger. Didn’t notice a head to squeeze. Going by doctor for a closer examination

They does cut it using a surgical knife after applying anesthetic to the area via multiple needle shots in that one area. They had to use the surgical knife to take out the sack which had the puss like fluid in it, if you squeeze out the fluid the sack will remain and after awhile it will start building up fluid again so they had to surgically remove the sack.

Just prepare for ALOT of pain because even with about 10 needle injections in the same area where the cyst was located it still pained alot with the slashes of the surgical knife. Go brave.

a pimple and cyst can be the same thing except a pimple is closer to surface where as a cyst gland is deeper
the issue is when the gland/sac gets scarred up deep below and results in the hard ball you feel

Cyst removal

Postby eitech » August 18th, 2023, 7:59 pm

Had the procedure done over a week now. Took 45 mins. No pain at all during the surgery but i did feel a few of the injections to numb the area lol. Had a lil pain after being discharged but pain killers helped. No pain after that. Stitches to be removed tomorrow.

Yep. Also tested samples. No concerns found.
