Amazon will make you pre pay a deposit for taxes based on their estimate.
If taxes end up more than the estimate... Amazon will absorb it
If taxes end up less... They will refund you the difference

so wait nah. is best we ship all eligible stuff via amazon instead of skybox? seems like it will be cheaper most of the time?

Undeliverable
Unfortunately, a problem occurred during shipping and we had to cancel your delivery. The package is being returned, and we will issue a refund within 3 - 5 business days after the return is processed. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience.

there is no reason given. anyone ever had this experience and would amazon refund the money with no reason given ?

Occasionally packages are returned to us as undeliverable. When the carrier returns an undeliverable package to us, you will be issued a full refund (including shipping charges).
Orders that are returned to us as undeliverable are not able to be re-shipped. If you would still like to purchase items that were undeliverable, you are welcome to place a new order on our website.

If you suspect your order cannot be delivered as addressed and you have not received confirmation of its return or refund after 4 weeks from the estimated delivery date, please contact us.

Reasons for Undeliverable Packages
There are many reasons that a package may be returned to us as undeliverable.

Keep in mind, if you are a PRIME member with Amazon, shipping via DHL voids your free shipping and handling charges. I recently thought of shipping direct via DHL versus Jetpak to test the service and noticed I would have to pay an additional 400TT in handling charges on top of the DHL fees of TT480. Shipping within the US means I wouldn't have to pay S&H as a Prime member and my estimted Jetpak fees were $560. While Jpk is higher, I would still be out 400TT. Long story short :) DHL would be good for small urgent item, but not so great for shipping a bunch of items together driectly..

I tried this option of using DHL to ship some rechargeable batteries that cost a total of $30USD (item + shipping + taxes). Got an email yesterday from DHL that I owe $172TTD to receive the package. I thought fees were paid upfront?

Anyways...definitely NOT worth it to pay 30US + 172TT for batteries that were listed on Amazon for 15.99US

dhl and fedex charge $100+ processing fees
plus the normal duty and vat taxes
skybox companies charge much less processing fees

if recipient is a business, fedex charges $200 processing fee instead

So the $9.95US that amazon charge me for import duties was for what?

item: $15.99
international shipping flat rate: $5.00
import taxes and duties: 9.95

total: $30.94

And now I still have to pay duties and VAT? plus processing fees?

NAH I'll stick to buying my imitation china batteries by d shop.

Amazon charged you import duties?
That is odd.

so i saw similar few weeks ago and compared what and how much Pmart had it for
it made sense to buy it Pmart vs the 48 Energizer AA or AAA via Amazon.

it's rechargeables I ordered btw. Was looking for something long term and more sustainable.

My big concern is what people here were talking about all fees are paid upfront and you pay nothing to receive your package. I am not a prime member as someone suggested previously but I am paying import taxes 2X.

It was a learning experience to share and I EH DOIN DAT AGAIN.

Not TTPOST.

Either DHL or FEDEX. This free international shipping is about 2 weeks old. Items on Amazon that qualify for the free shipping is limited.
