WWWWAAAAAIIITTTTT... HOLD UP...

POINT FORTIN FLIP!?

Point Fortin celebrates its UNC Coalition of Interest Labour Candidate Ernesto Kesar's victory. Let those who labour hold the reins of power. Congratulations, Ernesto Kesar. You ran a very clean, dignified, and respectful campaign. You deserve your seat in parliament to represent the people of Point Fortin.

So because PNM conceded all coverage stopped.

Where are the numbers? This is BS.

Something strange going on on the picong party site. A lot of seats saying 1 vote. And 99% vote in. Tell me d PNMites in EBC not so embarrassed that they lose even some PNM strongholds that they eh want to release the results!

Exactly how you know Scotty is a waste of time? When last you observe him other than on tv? Granted, he ain't the prettiest of God's creatures, but I can say he does do some good, usually off camera.

Son, sometimes is better yuh keep quiet and let people think you have at least some sense, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Anyway
These results are not surprising to me. The majority of the population fed up and frustrated and decided to take a risk for a change.

Public servants came out and voted......The 47% pay increase was the last straw that broke the camel back…. If they took 4 percent like the rest of workers I would have said yeah boy they really understand the circumstances but they showed us blatantly that no f#%ks were given

Remarkable results congrats to the UNC they ran an effective campaign, to me the digital campaign was key, people spend so much time lollygagging on their phone on Tik Tok and Instagram and Facebook for the older heads. Soliciting those “influencer” accounts to campaign for them clearly worked.

I said in a previous thread that incumbency is hard, a third term is almost unprecedented, and the numbers bear out, PNM has to wheel and come again, they have traditionally been a responsible opposition albeit toothless given its only 13 seats, they can’t block special majority bills, the independent bench in the senate becomes even more important as a safeguard.

I felt the decisions/circumstances in the last 3 months cost them the election, Dr Rowley miscalculated badly on his approach to transition of leadership, the implementation of the SRC changes, the naked politicization of a payout to the Paria divers families (which never actually happened) will sour anyone who had any misgivings of putting UNC back in office. The dragon gas deal license revocation while not the fault of the government or within their control will feel like a failed promise for the future. All are things that kill any goodwill with a population already fatigued with 10 years of austerity.

UNC has a real mandate just like in 2010 and this time there is no real coalition to cater to, they won it their own for the most part. They don’t need the TPP to govern, but they will be faced with a laundry list of campaign promises and economic and social realities it has to address. Crime ain’t going away, food prices still high and forex still short and they have to create sustainable revenue streams. I’m curious to see the composition of their cabinet .

Also very curious about their foreign policy within Caricom and beyond.

God bless T&T

nah.. several seats claimed by the pnm have 1 vote..

i feel that 14 seats and 13 seats and even 10 seats are optimistic projections coming out of baliser house.

what i want to know is the full extent of the pnm collapse. might have to wait until EBC release results to find it out
