Some legal advice

Postby Powerslave » October 1st, 2010, 11:38 am

Ok, i know ill probably get flamed, but still

So i lent a sizable sum of money to some1 that is now me ex (mistake#1) and even worst, did so without any written agreement (mistake#2). The person is now refusing to pay me back and i really need the money now.
I was wondering what may be my legal options, like filing a summons or something, but im wondering if it would make sense since i dont want the candle costing more than the funeral. I do not have a written agreement with the party, but I can get bank receipts that would show money transferred from my account to hers.
Dont want to have to go the legal route, but reason seems to be lost on her.
Advice is welcomed! Thanks

That's a minor matter......go to a JP and get a summons to take her to civil court. If you really do have documentation showing that you transferred money into her account, then all that is left is for her to prove whether it was a loan or a gift.......a magistrate is not going to spend alot of time on this matter if you have the proof.
