Anyone experienced with PayPal integration either via custom API or with a existing shopping cart solution? Encountered some problems and need some assistance.

PM or send me an email daren @ dhoray.com if you can help.
Thanks

Not really experienced with it, I using vistaprint professional package which is more or less a "website and paypal usage for dummies"

For my other business which I often have to send invoices to email addresses/customers, I just use the paypal merchant services "create a buy now" button option and I message the customer the link that is generated by paypal.

Paypal recommends 2-3 shopping cart solutions, I tried them but it in my very limited experience, I couldn't get them to easily work.

Thanks for the response ABA Trading LTD, I was actually trying to do this with a Trinidad based Business account but it does not seem to have the "create buy now button" anywhere as an option. I was under the impression that since you were allowed to create a PayPal Business Account that you would be able to use some merchant features. I've since contacted PayPal and waiting on a response.

you cant receive any money with a trinidad merchant account via paypal (last i checked).

If it's invoicing you are looking to do with the ability to have ppl pay via paypal, then you should try this: FreshBooks

You can't accept money @ all with a Trinidad based paypal account so there won't be much options with merchant services, I don't even see why they allow you to create a merchant account with a Trinidad paypal account as it doesn't have any use.

This is the merchant services screen with US based paypal account.

you have the option to generate HTML code or a email link when creating the buttong

I think theres a local service you can use for e commerce but they charge something like 16 or 20% of your sales as their fee, scotia bank also has a e commerce service which costs around 5 000 to set up, not sure about the fees after that

Duane...Pay Pal wont let you recieve funds if u setup your PP acct with a Trinidad & Tobago Address..what i did to get around that was use my sky box address for my pay pal account. I can now recieve and send funds.

With almost all e-commerce solutions there are modules or plugins that allow you to input your pay pal information into the shopping cart so that the end user can make a purchase smoothly and successfully, also you will be able to accept credit card information from customers that do not have pay pal accounts (u must have a business or premier pay pal account for this)

I recommend using Zen Cart, Oscommerce, Tomato Cart and Virtue Mart.

If you are using a custom HTML website u can always use the "Buy Now" buttons from pay pal

you cannot receive money on a credit card, not possible
credit cards aren't setup for that kind of txn, the only receiving txn a credit can do is a refund

to receive money you need a US bank account tied to your paypal account
with that you can actually send money from your bank account also

paypal for buying only requires linking your cc with them which is what most people are familiarwith

This is a very cool cart with lots of support, plug-ins and add-ons for just about every thing imaginable to make your job of selling online fast, effective and simple. I did my site as well as a few for my friends and I never had major issues.. I think the only problem I had was using template monster's "hack to bits" templates

Not bad for a guy with no PHP or web building skills... I figured it out with trial and error and a BL version of Dream weaver

Set up my PayPal account to receive and withdraw payments

To receive payments with PayPal, choose a Visa card issued in Trinidad and Tobago or a bank account in the U.S. to link to your PayPal account. You must withdraw payments from your available balance before you can spend it.

Your available balance is automatically transferred on the first day of every month to your linked card or bank account.

You can also withdraw payments from your available balance to your linked card or bank account at any time.

Choose a Visa debit or credit card issued in Trinidad and Tobago to link to your PayPal account. We’ll send your withdrawals to this card, minus a fee. Then you can then use the payments any way you want.

^ dem dont need to know what paypal is.

I signed up for PayPal with my T&T address and linked by Scotiabank credit card to it with no problems. I can now pay for stuff online with PayPal - what I can't do is receive money to my PayPal account (you can't pay me or send money from your paypal account to mines) because I have a T&T PayPal account and PayPal limits what T&T accounts can do.

You need a US bank account in a reputable US bank to set up a US PayPal account to be able to receive money. Yes you can use your skybox address to set up a US paypal account however you need to be a US resident to open an account with a credit card in a US Bank on your name. I am not a US resident.

You dont have to open a account with a credit card, you can open a US account and get a Visa debit card.

I`m a Trinidad citizen and I have the Us bank account and US visa debit card with Wachovia, this allows me to accept paypal payments normal.
I can fully access my US bank account online and do withdrawals transfers or whatever as well as Wachovia sends letter correspondence to my Trinidad address if need be.

I assume you have to go into the bank.
You have to use your passport as ID and need to deposit around 50 US to start the account.

I say assume because I don't know whats the proper procedure, I was able to get it done by scanning my passport ID page and sending it to a friend who works in wachovia and she opened accounts for me.
