I have found myself over the last three years understanding the music being offered by our "our new form soca artiste" and in many cases really wiggling in appreciation.
On sunday whilst viewing the grammies and the Chris Brown performance and the girations of the crowd it was apparent that our soca and the international pop/hip hop music has started to merge.
Hopefully,our artistes can see as clearly as I can a true opportunity to aggressively make a big global bang now....the world of music seems "ready" for the product.
The investments made by all is definitely at a place to provide the big pay days for all and the local fraternity needs to be careful that poachers from foreign don't relieve us of this thing.
With sincere respect to Bunji,I am really working hard at developing an appreciation for his product which clearly has legitimised itself by the size of his fan base.
......This post is an acknowledgement of years of good developmental work which was unclear for many years.
The time has come to give this form of music a proper name and brand same.
