I've never known this set to be this silent so thought it kinda odd.

My guess is that only a few are using it right away via whatever means.

Majority will wait for the update.

I'm on Trinituner asking what OTHER Trinituners think.

I tested it last night on a 4s.

Did not need to register as a developer.

Just do a fresh install of your latest iOS 6, then update with the iOS 7 beta ipsw for your device.

It was a little too buggy for me at the moment so I downgraded to iOS6. I'm sure Apple with have it optomized for Fall.

It was a nice 15 mins of play. The new guestures are cool. Control Center just like SBSettings on JB.

A backspace appears when u enter numbers.

RASC wrote:I wonder where the Trinituner ios power users stand either regards to the new look?

The press is heavily split with it more leaning towards the negative.

I really don't want to go into too much detail as I don't know what can/cannot be said but honestly, this is a beta, i expected quirks and there are TONS. Tons more than ios 5 and 6 as a beta. Let's just say 80% of the apps I use will have to be updated. In some their are calculation mismatches even. I think however devs have their work cut out with all those 1500 new APIs to play with.

The new control center sucks. Where is a 3G toggle?

Battery life - well it's a beta, so don't bother to count that in.

Notification Center - it is cool as well as iTunes Radio which works quite well.

The look of the icons - I've grown accustomed to them.

Overall, I'm waiting to see how easy it is to get an HTC One Vanilla Version from the play store on the 26th. I kid you not.
I feel like how I felt in 2007/8 about Sony Ericsson. I know this is only a beta but Apple has a lot to do to sort things out. Right not i'm downloading 6.1.3 because too many of my apps are broken. I'll definitely miss the jailbreak and iTunes Radio though.

RASC I'd say 75% of all the major blogs dislike it.

P.S. if you use voice memos... don't even bother installing the beta. It's missing for some reason.

Apparently Apple's Marketing team was responsible for the look of the icons. It's said that they are not final and could change between now and iOS 7 GM/Final.

Listening to the verge mobile cast now. From a design element they truly dislike it.

Something they also noted about the controlcenter. If you have a Dark background...it makes it really hard to read the text due to the translucent nature of it all.

Also in the control center the inability to edit the 4 default apps.

The font is apparently so thin and flat that it's very hard to read in the weather app...

Plus lots of other little things. The 5 dots for example lol was a minor one they were hating on also... think only one editor liked it.

But it just seems like apple was trying a bit too hard wrt design. Went a bit too "modern" if you get me.

All this and ios7 coupled with the 5S will sell like hot cakes. I think sometimes we-ppl into tech and mobile- forget how out numbered we are by the masses. All this won't even matter to half of them.

Dunno why ppl being so anal about ios7...the refresh is much welcomed in my books cuz I really couldn't handle using the same exact interface for a 6th year straight...it's about damn time they switched things up a little

They made lots of changes to the UI but yet still seemed to maintain a sense of familarness ...I applaud them for finally gettin the balls to change that tatoo'd iOS they had on their idevices for ages now cuz honestly that $hit was gettin very old

apple is listening to foolish statements like this and letting it influence their direction a bit too much. You do have a choice in the matter.

i hope they don't rape the mac with these repugnant colors.

thank you!
All of these are also echoed by big devs as well, not just plebs like myself. minutes after WWDC @taptaptap was RT'n away all sorts of anti-iOS 7 stuff

The dots thing is ok though, i like the status bar sizing, it's finally usable. IN ios 6 you can barely have Bluetooth, VPN and 3G showing without losing the battery percent.

I'm still waiting to see where is the "openess" Tim coined out at D11.

iOS 7 design elements: side-by-side with other platforms

The multitasking screens of iOS 7, Windows Phone, and webOS

iOS 7's integrated weather app versus Yahoo's recently-revamped iOS app

Settings toggles are new to iOS 7, but they've been a common feature on other phones — this Galaxy S3, for instance

iOS 7's redesigned messaging app has a good deal of visual overlap with Windows Phone's

Many have been quick to point out that the design and color scheme of the "parallax" wallpaper demoed on stage at WWDC is strikingly similar to the active wallpaper that ships as default on stock Android
Image

The order of the buttons is different, but iOS 7's call answer screen shares its layout with Windows Phone

iOS 7 introduces new swipe gestures to move in and out of screens in apps. Other platforms, like BlackBerry 10, have fully embraced swiping from the bezel

The current iOS calculator is one of its most recognizable designs, famously borrowed from a Braun calculator. In iOS 7, it moves to flat, square buttons, not unlike Windows Phone's calculator app

I hated it at first, but now... I love it.

haters gonna hate, this is the way modern UI design is going.. simpler, layered, easy on the eyes...

Mine to... at certain locations it changes to Digicel. I guess it has to do with the Cell Tower you're close to.
