Looking for a air compressor to purchase, something in the 10-15 cfm @90psi range.
Don`t know much abt brands and durability on them so any help would be appreciated. I heard abt Ingersoll Rand brand but don`t know who sells them locally and price.

Check the Puma brand from Khanico. I have a 60 Gal single stage that is heavily used daily in an auto garage environment with zero issues.

Mine does 12 cfm @ 90psi.

Think i paid around $6500.

A used IR 2 stage was $10k at the time.

Never had a problem with my puma compressor. Their service is also real good. They have replacement parts and even came and changed a copper line I damaged. No complaints.

Thanks fellas, I went and check a company called Pneumatic Equiptment Ltd, they are the dealers for Quincy brand compressors. The owner sat down and had a long conversation with me abt air compressors, I learned alot. He was explaining to me abt the rpm wrt the pump, high rpm pumps don`t have a long lifespan, the pumps on most Quincy brand compressors run very low rpm. This is the model i`m looking to purchase

http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/ ... _200350476

This model has a 50,000+ hour pump life, it looks to be a really high quality machine and all the online reviews are good plus they stock all the parts, service and installation if needed. They don`t have any in this model in stock atm but owner said he is getting two shipments with compressors in a couple weeks. If anyone else is interested they are located in 6th ave Barataria, there is no sign up because they recently moved there but from the bus route side heading south it`s abt 2 intersections down there`s a building on your left.

Relief valve? I don't know if anyone down here supplies any parts for powernate but relief valves are all usually the same. Check any compressor supplier who stocks parts.
On the valve will have a pressure rating usually 150 or 175 or 200 psi....that's all that matters

What's the price on that quincy? Where I used to work before we used to run a entire alignment shop with a 80 gallon quincy. Never had any problems and issues. The bleeder was very hard to get at tho.

The gallons don't say much at all. Its the HP and cfm@psi that really counts IMO.

Understanding duty cycle or your compressor has alot to do with the lifespan.

They have this in stock atm. Price was $7000+vat and was negotiable.
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/ ... _200612355

There was another one not sure of the exact model either QT 7.5 or QP 7.5 which was priced 20-21K but none in stock atm.
This one is around 15K http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/ ... _200350476

Anyone here using a piping system for your compressor? If so what kind of pipe was used?

This is a good deal. I checked out a few 60 gallons. Mainly from husky and powermate and they were around this price range. For a quincy this is a excellent deal

Looking at a cordless grinder for DIY work.Any suggestions?Thinking about going Bosch as I already have a Bosch cordless drill and I think all the batteries are interchangable.

if u have batteries/charger already, then it makes sense to purchase the bare tool.
because i've noticed the tool itself is cheap, when you add battery/charger the price doubles

I find black and decker come a long way from being a "budget" brand tool to having some good stuff on the market with lots of cool features.

1441293958083.jpg

Borrowed this from my father in law.
It has a steering wheel system on top to guide the scroll feature
Multiple speed adjustments
Keyless blade change and it uses both "T" and "U" shank blades

I borrowed this from a buddy...

Literally no where in trinidad stocks this blade
Its a 6.5" with 5/8" arbor

I ended up getting 1 at the tool place in near the aranguez roundabout

I have the dewalt 20v lithium
working good so far, don't really use it for extended stuff but more
for cutting stuff eg when buying the odd length of steel,
cut it in half at bhagwansinghs to fit on pickup tray.
it is slower rpm but appears to have a lot more torque than a 110v so cuts just as well or better

I have the Milwaukee M12 and M18 tools, the latter for a few years well and no problems so far. In my experience Black and Decker is a waste, some dewalts as well but I think I got duds. For a regular DIY person you can't go wrong with the M12 series, definitely more powerful than any other 12v I ever used.
