Any 2ner has the direcTV prepaid ,selling in Massy Stores for $399 then you could top up for $160 any Lotto/Via booth ,42 channels TRUTV and AMC looks good .

it only had 4 units in Massy Stores store clerk said "it sells like hot bread goes fast "

They started this pre paid service for the last World Cup , I owned this service from since and it's very good.

Even bought 2 for Christmas as gifts for family members ,they luv it too , wanted more but it was hard to get ,picture quality is good with any hdtv ,installed this my self just had someone inside on the phone telling me when I got 95% signal adjusting the dish on the roof .

From there is just to call the phone number provided ,they ask for the serial , account no. To be paid at any via lotto outlet ,address were the unit is and phone number . Next 10 mins you surfing channels

The prepaid boxes carry what we call standard quality boxes, not hd quality, but still very good quality.
It uses RCA jacks to connect which is included in the kit or if you have an older tv you can connect via the tuner. Obviously the RCA jacks give you better quality video. Prepaid is a big hit in Trinidad.
As far as programming its the same programming as regular DTV but just a smaller package for prepaid.
Presently the prepaid come with only a one box option.

This dish won't provide local channels, you'll need an antenna.

This the only downside of Direct TV I think they should find someway to broadcast local TV through satellite. But dunno how much extra that would cos them?

You crazy bruh?!!!! LAST thing needed is local stuff on DirecTV. Before long local ads would be inserted at all times. No thanks. All the LA content is bad enough, local adverts is far worse!

You want local stations, just watch them online. The cost would be extreme so the investment of at the very least an uplink would have to be made back with a flood of ad content. A biblical flood.

I looked at the Direct TV website but saw no mention of the 42 Channel Package/Listing that they are offering. Does anyone have a Channel lineup?

Presently they are working on getting a couple local channels in the line up.
TV6 and CNC3 so far.
Until then you need a local antenna which doesnt come in the prepaid box. With the postpaid package you do get a local antenna.

The place formerly known as radio shack has lots of different video jacks. There is also a place in curepe that has many cables.

S-Video to HDMI Cable does not exist and there is no such thing S-Video to HDMI Cable that can convert SVideo to HDMI! If you see one selling don't buy it as it won't work.

You will need to buy a converter box like this one

Also just FYI there is a promotion going on in June and July i believe.
Prices have been reduced from $399 to $299.

You cannot get Sportmax add on in prepaid, what you see on the listing is what you get.
Only postpaid customers can add the premium channels.
