Personally i bought the nvidia tv and it works seamless...android tv os is alil different to normal android os as well
1400$ for a box with apps is crazy, I agree. On the other hand, 1400$ for a box, an air mouse and a modified platform is worth it.

Roku and AppleTV don't need that patience and learning process.R-H-D wrote:Duane 3NE 2NR wrote:I've said it before. Duane 3NE 2NR you can also pay for services on an android box
Also you can customize addons such as Genesis to select the server you know works 99% of the time automatically play videos and then also eliminate the servers that dont work.
Once the user is patient and willing to learn how this media system works he will have no complaints.
A nice free app for android is Pluto TV check it out folks think it can be used via a browser and on the roku also

all free streaming kodi pulling from same sources, genesis, icefilms etc
let's not try to pretend any kodi/android device any better than any other in
terms of the content being streamed(for free)
pugboy wrote:Not trying to diss anybody but i have spent last few days reading up on this android box kodi thing whilst playing with my install on a fire stick.
The reality is the boxes and fire stick etc are little computers which have kodi(formerly called xbmc) video software installed on them which has the main feature of being able to pull the video from other places on the internet(illegally?)
The places supplying these sources are no different than torrent networks
Sure there are different cosmetic makeups of how the kodi interface looks but under the hood it is the same concept no matter if a gbox or fire stick
So as usual ymmv
