The weather these pass two days seems to have had a calming effect on celebrations thus far (which may be a blessing).
The drive in 'white rain' yesterday, surprising wasn't bad since almost all drivers I observed were actually real careful.

Hurricane Alex formed in January way south close to the equator. That's not a good sign of our weather pattern.

Subtropical Storm Alex Forms, Giving the Atlantic Hurricane Season a Rare January Start

Alex became the first hurricane to form in the Atlantic Ocean in January in nearly 80 years Thursday, the National Hurricane Center said.

A hurricane warning was in effect for the Azores as the storm headed north-northeast at 23 mph toward the island chain with winds of 85 mph. The storm is forecast to bring hurricane conditions to the central Azores early Friday.

Yes. I can't wait to get some reprieve from this heat. Social and environmental issues aside, I prefer rainy weather over shiny conditions

UV index at 11+
Temperature in the shade is 35°C. Real Feel 39°C.

Was out there just now for a 20 mins with a hat and I almost died.
Drink about 4 liters of water per day in this heat people! Try to stay indoors between 10 am and 4 pm!

Don't go outside without UPF-50 clothing + Hat + Category 3 or more Sunglasses!

Just came in from trying to make some 2week old pups as comfortable as possible.
Today seems to be the most difficult in terms of temp.

EXTENDED RANGE FORECAST OF ATLANTIC SEASONAL HURRICANE
ACTIVITY AND LANDFALL STRIKE PROBABILITY FOR 2016

We anticipate that the 2016 Atlantic basin hurricane season will have approximately
average activity. The current weakening El Niño is likely to transition to either neutral or
La Niña conditions by the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season. While the tropical
Atlantic is relatively warm, the far North Atlantic is quite cold, potentially indicative of a
negative phase of the Atlantic Multi-Decadal Oscillation. We anticipate a near-average
probability for major hurricanes making landfall along the United States coastline and in
the Caribbean. As is the case with all hurricane seasons, coastal residents are reminded
that it only takes one hurricane making landfall to make it an active season for them.
They should prepare the same for every season, regardless of how much activity is
predicted.
