OP's post is totally misleading. Article says nothing about shutting down Facebook. What she probably wants is for people to report images that show T&T in a bad light (namely, gruesome murder pics) to the Tourism Ministry. They will then contact Facebook and ask them to take the image down.

The other islands have high crime too, however, do their citizens post gruesome murder images online and try their best to get the news out there? Some may but I think most of them recognise the importance of not chasing away the tourists.
