Proton is the guy for surf pompano, you catch those on manzan side. Bigger pompano species like african pompano/carangapling you get in deeper water around structure and wrecks on the east and north coast. You could probably get them to buy in the stalls around mayaro.

anyone ever suddenly develop sea sickness ?
the gulf is fine, but i never had an issue with the north but the last two times was serious sea sickness
could it be the sign of ear issues?

Nah, wen was d last time u went out on d north? Cud be wat u ate the morning or night before too...minimise on oily stuff and any dairy products...

last time was last yr i went out north, friends made some trips after and i really didnt wanna go after i remembered how i felt


did a a couple banking trips in the gulf, patos etc and was fine though

gonna try stemetil or bonine whenever i head out again

Dem stuff does make u drowsy...rather stick it out an get stronger...u wud eventually stop feeling sick...cud also be u get used to ah certain rock of ah boat and on another bout it wud be different...plenty guys from bigger boats feel it on smaller boats...

Embrace the seasickness.. eat a healthy portion of shrimp, hops & black pudding and tinned corn before heading out, if you don't vomit yuh belly full-> if you do vomit instant chum the mackerels and dem. win win situation

That's what they call yellow crocro/ butterfish but it's those grunts you catch shallow in the gulf. Barred grunt, Conodon nobilis.
