Insurance discount for Fire extinguishers?

Postby redmanjp » August 25th, 2016, 9:22 am

So we are trying to apply for fire insurance and the form is asking us if we have fire extinguishers, fire alarms, etc. Is it that we get discounts for those things?

and where could I get a fire extinguisher at a good price? I'm thinking about the CO2 ones.

As far as I know there isnt a specific X% off...but the presence of FE etc is considered as part of the underwriting process.

sorry for coming off topic but is there some sort of calculation a person can do to find out roughly how much their house insurance should cost.
As for your fire extinguisher there is different types , for the kitchen i think everyone should have one, type B min

When applying the insurance company will give u a list of recommended evaluators from which you required to liaise and employ at your own cost to obtain an valuation. The insurance company will then use that value to insure the property and determine the premiums etc.
