The ODPM said a while ago that in the event of a natural disaster no first responders will be coming to your assistance for at the least 3 days.
It's a Japanese model they are following which forces people to build resilience.
I'm open to correction if they have revised this policy.

I wonder about some of you sometimes.

What is a tropical storm warning?

http://www.accuweather.com/en/hurricane/atlantic

Potential Tropical Cyclone Two east of the Windwards
6/19/2017 5:31:00 AM

Potential Tropical Cyclone Two is about 600 miles east of the Windward Islands early Monday morning EDT. It is moving quickly westward at 23 mph. With this quick movement, it will affect the Windward Islands by Monday night.

Potential Tropical Cyclone Two is expected to strengthen during the next day or two into a tropical storm as it moves near and over the Windward Islands. If named, it would become Bret. Tropical storm warnings are in effect for Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as Trinidad and Tobago, and Grenada. This system will bring heavy rainfall and stronger wind gusts to near 50 mph for the Windward Islands as it moves through Monday night into Tuesday. Once this system pushes into the Caribbean Sea, it will weaken as it encounters some increased wind shear and dry air. Thus, it will likely weaken into a tropical rainstorm over the central Caribbean Sea.

You come like Satan. God is warning and showing us what is coming. Along comes Satan to tell us that it is not so.

This is an ideal time for all our emergency scenarios to be implemented.

But as is typical of T&T on a public holiday, NOT ONE local TV channel, this morning, has anything about the storm / weather.

National Hurricane Center

Image

Note: The time of the tropical cyclone's center location at the bottom of the graphic will be 3 hours earlier than the time of the current advisory. The forecast cycle for each advisory begins 3 hours prior to the issuance of the advisory products.

These graphics show probabilities of sustained (1-minute average) surface wind speeds equal to or exceeding 34 kt (39 mph). These wind speed probability graphics are based on the official National Hurricane Center (NHC) track, intensity, and wind radii forecasts, and on NHC forecast error statistics for those forecast variables during recent years. Each graphic provides cumulative probabilities that wind speeds of at least 39 mph will occur during cumulative time periods at each specific point on the map. The cumulative periods begin at the start of the forecast period and extend through the entire 5-day forecast period at cumulative 12-hour intervals (i.e., 0-12 h, 0-24 h, 0-36 h, ... , 0-120 h). An individual graphic is produced for each cumulative interval, and the capability to zoom and animate through the periods is provided. To assess the overall risk of experiencing winds of at least 39 mph at any location, the 120-h graphics are recommended.

Storm warning No. 3
..Met Office says system forecast to intensify
Published on Jun 19, 2017, 6:28 am AST
By The Multimedia Desk

A Third Tropical Storm warning was issued at daybreak today for Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada and its dependencies. The countries can expect tropical storm conditions within 18 to 24 hours, which means the bad weather will hit some time during Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Image
The weather system east of Trinidad and Tobago at 5a.m on Monday.

According to the bulletin from the Meteorological Services of Trinidad and Tobago, At 5a.m on Monday, the centre of Potential Tropical Cyclone #2 was located near 8.4ºN latitude 54.5ºW longitude or about 1005 kilometres east-southeast of Trinidad.

A Potential Tropical Cyclone refers to a disturbance that has not yet become a tropical cyclone, but which poses the threat of bringing tropical storm or hurricane conditions to land areas within 48 hours. Potential Tropical Cyclone #2 is moving to the west at about 37 km/hr.

The disturbance is expected to continue on west-northwest track over the next 48 hours during which it is forecast to intensify as environmental conditions are conducive for strengthening.

Maximum sustained winds are near 65km/hr with higher gusts. Minimum central pressure is 1005mb. Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada and its Dependencies will therefore be mostly exposed to Tropical Storm conditions from Monday night into Tuesday.

The disturbance is expected to produce total rainfall accumulations of 50 to 125mm over Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada and its Dependencies from Monday night through Tuesday. Gusty winds and street/flash flooding are likely in areas of heavy showers or thundershowers. The possibility of landslides/landslips exists. Sea conditions are also anticipated to become very disturbed which will adversely affect marine and coastline interests.

Citizens and all concerned are advised to closely follow the directions and advise of their Disaster Emergency Managers at this time. Adopt all necessary measures to preserve life and property.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service will issue another bulletin at noon.
