Older sims are thicker...

Best bet is ask bmobile to do a sim swap...same number new sim already cut

1. If I were to purchase an iphone 5 , can my old TSTT B-Mobile sim ( I have since 2004) be converted to a nano-sim by cutting ? Would actually work without problems ?
2. Where can a sim cutter be purchased in Trinidad to convert standard sim to nano-sim ?

Thanks

i had an old sim that is about the same age you are describing and i went to tstt and bought a newer sim which has a smaller area where the gold contact area is,i looked up on youtube and there are a ton of videos as well as stencils to cut the sim and it works perfectly with my unlocked sim.you need a ruler, any sort of extremely sharp blade(surgical blade or other fine cutter)/scissors, a marker and you can invest in nano and micro sim card adapter and you will be good to go

http://www.iphonezen.com/nano-sim.html this is the site i think i used

the contacts on those older SIM cards are larger. You will have to get the SIM with the smaller contacts to cut it to a nano SIM

so my iPhone 5 is now dead for good it seems.

It all started 2 days ago , battery died on me when i was on the highway which brought up this symbol Image that battery became fully drained about 1hr 30 mins after which showed this symbol Imageby the time i got home the regular symbol was not there , the screen was blacked out!

I plugged it in to charge and was not getting any juice , left it for about an hour ...still nothing i kept on pressing the home button like mad which brought up a third symbol showing only the charging symbol (no battery)Image . At this point the iPhone 5 was not taking charge from the wall outlet so i ran to my macbook where i managed to plug in the iPhone before the screen blacked out again !.

A fourth symbol appeared which was a bolt in the center of the screen indicating that the iPhone was saved !

------

The next day i was on my way to the beach , it died , same sequence as above took place , this time i didn't arrive home until 7-10 hours later , by then it was too late , left it charging over night ...tried everything the genius / online forums recommend , still nothing so according to apple when it reaches this stage the phone has to be sent back to them and replaced.

In other Apple news tho:

Image

Apple Inc. has cut its orders for components for the iPhone 5 due to weaker-than-expected demand, people familiar with the situation said Monday.

Apple's orders for iPhone 5 screens for the January-March quarter, for example, have dropped to roughly half of what the company had previously planned to order, two of the people said.

The Cupertino, Calif., company has also cut orders for components other than screens, according to one of the people.

Apple notified the suppliers of the order cut last month, the people said.

The move indicates that sales of the new iPhone haven't been as strong ...

if you had an iPhone, you'd have seemless sync with all your phone photos automatically in your photostream on your mac along with notes, calendar, contacts etc via iCloud

If you had an AppleTV you could use your MBP and your phone on your TV wirelessly

Mountain Lion supports all of that.

On saturday at cricket my iPhone was stolen (Pick-Pocketed). A couple of my friends also lost their phones while walking through the crowd. I have, 'find my iPhone' installed however it has not been switched on since and is offline. Is there any other way to track it? Also I know the IMEI number is unique to each phone. Do bmobile have anything in place if someone tries to reactivate the phone? It is still under contract with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

U got it from bmobile or from Apple store? Knowing you, just figured you woulda end up opening it rather than going through the stress of shipping back to Apple

lol true but for me i have it easy , i have a direct link to a supplier which handles the iphones from apple in miami , shipping company etc....

its not the bmobile one , thank the lord because that would of been headache , knowing bmobile i may not get a replacement till december so its always best fastest to go directly to apple.

question folks...

i have an old iphone 3G that I want to give to my dad, but the home button is not working. I plan to update it to a firmware that has assistive touch to workaround the home button. Anyone knows what is the lates firmware that I can update it to and still be able to unlock it?

Ever since I went factory unlocked I have not kept up to date with jailbreak/unlocks for the iphone.

4.2.1 is the highest you can go with a 3G but its very sluggish on the 3G

Have you contacted bmobile and made a report to the police?

I sped up my 3G by removing launch daemons and shadows under icons and bars. Also disabled the spotlight search for all. Also fixed multitasking. Dramatic difference from stock iOS4. I'm also faking iOS 4.3.3 so I can run more apps from the app store that require that iOS, but can still technically run on iOS 4.2.1.

Factory unlocked and jailbreaked.
