there are knock-off cables but they can only be used for charging.

I bought a female to male Lightning extension cable but it only works for charging and cannot transfer data. Most times it does not even work with charging!

What I use is a regular 6ft USB extension from charger brick then connect Lightning cable to it.. Solves cable length issue..

I'm guessing that the apple lightning cable authentication doesn't get verified so it doesn't work with any attachments.

Cause I saw a video on YouTube with the same digital av connections and the users had to go original.

it works since I'm using an original Apple Digital AV connector

not much pain since I use a iOttie One Touch mount so the phone not all over the place.

I'm not using that Pioneer cable; it is not needed. All you need is a regular HDMI cable and a standard Lightning to USB (like the one your phone came with) and you plug both behind the deck and then plug both into the phone using the Apple Lightning Digital AV connector.

I'm going to write a lil review of the AppRadio 3 in the ICE forum soon - I'm really impressed with it!!!

Yeah got an iOttie myself.. Real nice device.. Look forward to the review.. Deck looking real nice.. Vehicle coming up on 3year, so maybe selling with its stock deck shortly.. Maybe the next one..

two things make this AppRadio 3 deck SPECTACULAR with an iPhone 4S or 5 even in Trinidad:

1. WAZE - it has Waze as an AppRadio app that lets you get navigation, reports, traffic etc while allowing pinch to zoom etc on the deck face

2. SIRI Eyes Free - you can summon SIRI using the mic on the deck and get all SIRI functions like "Call the office" or "text my wife" and it takes dictation while you are driving and plays the audio over the car speakers. You don't have to touch your phone or even look at it.

I also use it for Pandora and it even shows Netflix or just about any app on your phone, including the TriniTuner Mobile App, though i don't ever suggest using that while driving!!!

Yes I use Pandora on 3G/4G.

unblock-us.com service doesn't work over 3G/4G so I use Hotspot Shield. You can use any VPN and just turn on the VPN in settings when needed.

are you sure it's the firmware? FLOW has been really slow upi until today - it seems to have been fixed now

Click Settings > Safari > General/ Search Engine > change it back to Google or whatever you want to use.
