Powergen supposed to shutdown a while now, ever since TGU entered the frame and came on the grid.

The powergen pos plant is practically useless. They have an installed capacity of 308MW and if theu outputting 50MW on a good day thats rare.
TTEC has been building more infrastructure to take a lot more power from TGU over the past few years. Notice the new huge substation on M2 Ring Road and all these tra smission towers building in Debe to Gasparillo. This is not a new thing and it will be better for the country overall.

T&TEC is currently trying to build the transmission infrastructure to take full load from TGU, the current lines limit the amount of load they can take from TGU. TGUs combination of gas and steam allow them to produce about 1/3 of their power using the steam byproduct of the other 2/3 produced. This reduces the amount of natural gas used (less gas bill for T&TEC to pay). This is what makes TGU so power efficient.

Haha - made me laugh with this one.

I find it greatly disturbing that the PNM says a rapid rail project is more important than opening the children's hospital. Is the prime minister so vindictive in his thoughts that he doesn't see the need to save the lives of children ?

We all cant be shameless attention seekers like the UNC.

Me partner in the NCIC say he prefer the PNM politicians. They does show up to the Nagar by theyself, watch the show, eat the food and leave.

The UNC used to come with entourage and vanguard and ting. Used to demand tassa drumming and garlands. Demand everybody bow to them. Then they want to go up on stage and talk and sing and overshadow the whole programme.

Yes he prefer the PNM . They treat Indians like people and not servants.

Dr. Rowley was in the Nagar last night. Al Rawi pumping all over Sando West in tight clothes. And Mitchell... who cares for 4 years Sando East didn't have a rep and they were quite comfortable.

I must agree though the lack of political bacchanal is rediscovered territory though. PNM needs a little scandal otherwise the voting public will never forgive their boringness and vote them out next 5 year in lieu of a govt that can satisfy our lust sex, corruption and murder.

Y'all been noticing how many police raids as of late right?

Notice no fanfare , PR and galavanting all over the place?

Just asking... They're doing work and serving the population that's the only "achievement" which needs to be highlighted.

In all seriousness the fanfare is generated by the media, not the party. The press releases 'from TTPS under both PP and PNM are almost exactly the same, for these types of things. B

One has to realize the media pushes different angles spending on who is in government. Under PP, corruption and bacchanal are highlighted, under the PNM crime is the angle that sells.

Well Trainline doesnt have roads and Embacadere and Olera Heights normal. I roll through there with no problem.

Nevertheless, Al Rawi working. And if UNC petition even works, he will win his seat again by even more than 3000 votes

Well UNC supporters tried to invent a story of Razia Ahmed getting pelt in Embacadere but like she was too honest for them and she dispelled it. But PNM ppl in Embacadere get buss head and brick through their windscreen in the lead up to elections.

Eh no totally wrong.
It was in Ramsaran st on the Broadway that the media invented the story with Razia.
Ramsaran st is across the highway from Babacadere . Two different places with two different temperament of people.

Yes, I got folks that I personally know living on Ramsaran st. It has always been a PNM block . They more mannered that bacadere.

And in case you don't know, Bacadere is the correct name of that area.
The name was changed because ppl felt the Bacadere is a negative name so they just added the " Em" to embellish the name.

BANzai Rastafarai wrote:http://www.guardian.co.tt/news/2015-09-02/garbage-thrown-ahmed%E2%80%99s-tour?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=facebook

Residents threw garbage at a United National Congress (UNC) entourage and chased its candidate Raziah Ahmed, former Senate President and acting President of T&T, out of Ramsaran Street, San Fernando yesterday during a walkabout in the marginal constituency of San Fernando West.

Police were called in even though Ahmed said she was in no way threatened by the disgruntled residents.

As a banner of People’s National Movement (PNM) candidate Faris Al-Rawi fluttered in the wind, the residents said they did not want to see any politician at election time because of the “gimmicks.”

Natalie Des Vignes, from Ramsaran Street apartments, who contested the local government elections on an Independent Liberal Party (ILP) ticket last year, said they were unhappy with the UNC.

“We fight in the last elections with Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan and she give us nothing. We don’t even have a Cepep contract here to clean the place. We, the residents, have to chip up every month to raise money to cut the yard,” Des Vignes said. The lawn outside the apartment buildings was littered with beer bottles and other debris.

She added, “We have no work here and we don’t mind getting a few contracts because people here cannot even afford to buy food.”

Another resident, who requested anonymity, said, “We don’t want to see the UNC here. All they doing is passing and waving. What they feel this is a beauty contest? Children hungry here and the only way we will welcome them inside here is if they treat us better.”

A third resident added, “Kamla need to come here to Embacadere and meet with us. Come and check the youths, don’t send anybody else.”

Meanwhile, Vicky Ramlogan, who was part of Ahmed’s entourage said police were called in when the residents started to get unruly.

“They should not get on so because people have a right to vote for whoever they want. This is a democracy,” Ramlogan said.

He added that the residents threw their garbage at the entourage, without any care for the environment.

Ahmed said yesterday that it was the first time that she received such a response during her walkabouts.

“People came out on the road and started to shout. We continued to walk. I didn’t hear what they were saying,” she said.

Asked whether she was getting a negative response from the San Fernando West constituents, Ahmed responded, “The feeling we are getting is that some people clearly supports us and there are others who clearly do not support us. This is the first street where we got that response. We haven’t had this kind of situation before where people are getting on with themselves. I don’t know what their problem is but we are here to bring service to the people.” Police continued patrols in the area up to press time but there were no incidents of violence.

find this and the defacing of opponents Signage distasteful... leh we have a clean last week of SIlly Season nah?

Ramsaran st, had always been PNM to the bone. It is made up of 1960s Style barrack houses that PNM gave to them. Some used to pay $4 to $10 rent and even that they refuse to pay. Don't expect anything better from the inhabitants living there. They more PNM than any part of Trini.
