Negative on the spotlight search web content... I know it works on ios8, I didn't know they said web search on yosmite spotlight

Yeah they did. If you check Spotlight settings, its actually last on the list.

price
you do know that the iPhone 6 is US$199 on contract and US$649 off contract.
There are powersellers selling it for as low as TT$5799 on the trinituner classifieds.
It is PriceSmart that has it listed at that price. You cant have beef with Apple for that.

Dell has their 5K display for US$2500.
http://www.extremetech.com/computing/18 ... 4k-display
The new iMac with 5K display with 3Ghz i5, 8mb RAM, 2GB video card and 1TB fusion drive is $2499. And Apple has a TCON chip in the iMac that makes the 5K resolution very usable for regular content. So it's like you are getting the computer and newly developed TCON chip for free plus a dollar.

It wouldn't be used for anything too demanding anyway.

Also just realized the new Mac mini is slower than the 2012 one. That's odd.

iOS upgrades do not remove Personal Hotspot. Carrier updates from Bmobile can disable or enable it.

what did he spec it to that cost US$4000?

the highest processor 4.4Ghz i7, the highest video card AMD R9 M295X 4GB GDDR5 is the fastest the iMac retina can get. Yeah you can order 32GB of RAM from Apple, but it's cheaper to buy 8GB and then buy 32GB on Amazon and install it yourself. And I don't see how HDD space affects the display performance or interface speed. Personally I'd opt for 256GB SSD and get a Thunderbolt 2 external drive or a NAS for storage.

I think you can max out at US$2999, not US$4000+ as he suggested in the video.

Case in point

Only thing missing here is more RAM which you can buy after for less

That would be my choice

^ 1TB of flash storage and 32GB RAM is where the cost increase is.
But the Hard drive space wont make the iMac run any faster at 5K. And 1TB SSD is pointless IMO.
Load the OS and applications on a 256GB SSD and use an external as storage if needed.
32GB might but it's cheaper to buy it at 8GB and buy the extra RAM on Amazon.

Whats the cost to land that machine for US$2999 here BTW?

Duane yuh ever run a game off SSD? Or more to you all, editing? Once you get accustomed to that, there is no going back. Something simple as unzipping to a 7200rpm and an SSD or moving files around, once you get accustomed to it, you eh want to hear about HDD again! Worse yet for USB 3.0

yeah I have a 128GB SSD on my main PC. Again once your apps and OS are there you can keep work files on a PCIE drive with no problems

I don't game much any more but for Photoshop, Lightroom, Premier, Illustrator, Fireworks etc it works great

thunderbolt 2 > USB 3

SSD all the way for OS and applications, but for mass data storage, huge HD video files, large full res or RAW photo archives??

i fully support. But my point is, why spend so much to put a 1TB SSD inside an iMac when I can put a reasonably priced 256GB SSD in it and then run a thunderbolt 2 raid array with SSDs that I can buy and change whenever?
