How much jail time for that? 3 months?
read d whole thing nahThe gun charge states that Hunter Biden possessed a handgun, a Colt Cobra 38 special, despite knowing he was a drug user for 11 days in October 2018. The count carries a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in prison, but the Justice Department said Hunter Biden had reached a pretrial agreement on that charge. Full details were not immediately disclosed.
again, he get off real easy, not even a few months, thanks to his daddy's Justice Department.
Deferred Sentence Law and Legal Definition
A deferred sentence refers to a postponed, or delayed sentence in a criminal matter. In a deferred sentence, the court gives a defendant an opportunity to complete a probationary period before sentencing. If the defendant successfully completes probation (usually not longer than 2 years), at the conclusion of the probationary period the court will review the defendant’s file and may dismiss the charges against him/her. If, however, the defendant does not follow all of the terms and conditions of probation the court may enter the conviction and sentence the defendant accordingly.
Depending on the jurisdiction, a person may or may not have a permanent record of the crime on their criminal record after a successful completion of the probationary period and subsequent dismissal of the charges.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the US has assumed huge significance amid global economic and geopolitical headwinds.
The White House is pulling out all the stops to welcome Mr Modi - it's a state visit, the highest level of diplomatic protocol the US accords to visiting leaders. Mr Modi will be given a ceremonial welcome at the White House on Thursday before he holds direct talks with President Joe Biden.
Then there is the state dinner, a meeting with CEOs, an address to a joint session of Congress and speeches to Indian-Americans, which have been highlights of Mr Modi's past US visits.
All this for a leader once denied a visa to travel to the US because of concerns over human rights - now the US sees Mr Modi as a crucial partner.

Colleges and universities can no longer use race as a factor in their admissions decisions, the Supreme Court ruled Thursday, striking down the decades-long practice of affirmative action and upending schools’ admission tactics—which they warn could make future student bodies significantly less diverse.

There are also a few other prestigious universities that discriminated against Asians like Stanford. However there are many good universities still left as options for foreign students, Trinis etc.
Georgia State graduates some of the largest number of black graduates annually and Georgia banned racial preferences in college admissions since 1996.
It's still a good judgement to end a racist policy.

What point are you working toward? USSC says no more race-based university admissions considerations. If there are any Trinis that could benefit from that consideration, that benefit no longer exists.
I believe that there are Trinis that can, and have, benefitted from race-based university admissions consideration. So, fewer Trinis getting into US colleges.
Prove me wrong.

There are no undertones, no colors (see what I did there?), just a straightforward opinion based on the historical application of, and indeed the rationale for, affirmative action in the university admissions process: it is likely that some Trinis have benefited from those practices.
Benefit is gone? Fewer Trinis getting into US colleges.
