I don't know if he had time to weigh the pros and cons, but I think he made the right choice considering the cameras were recording and the bandits had no masks.

He could have fought back, or complied and open the house, or grab daughter and run.
In all cases, he could have been shot, daughter shot and/or kidnapped, house robbed, dvr destroyed.
And who knows if there were other occupants in the house too.

At around 0:50 it looks like he alerted the people by the car and can be seen running back towards the house. I think he was just very lucky.

very true you really can't judge these type of situations jus so
most people saying the guy is a coward/imps etc etc and casting judgment and im sure those same people have seen others get robbed or witness some sort of crime and didn't do sheit about it but gib gib

who knows what this dude's plan was but sometimes trying to play hero isn't the smartest cause of action

what i find the most disgusting doh is instead of everyone focusing on catching these bandits they rather take apart and demoralize the victim in this situation

I said he was a coward wen i first saw it but then HE gambled and it turned out well , imo ,
facing a gun and obeying orders is not cowardice but more survival.
