VPn service doesnt have an option to use a DNS name instead, and register name with dynamic dns?

i use express vpn and yes u can use a dyndns service- i use Dynu so expressvpn only uses my hostname. but when current go my IP changes so i usually have to use the Dynu app to update it and sync with my hostname.

most of my dynamics (noip) auto update at power on and 5m-60m intervals, they also detect a change in external gateway ip at those intervals and would update as well.

My last hold out on having the VPN service was Prime Video which is free with your Amazon Prime account. That didn’t work in T&T but now it does. So really have no use of the VPN other than the odd chance I need to access a US only vendor

Don't use Hulu but patiently waiting for it to be available via the Disney+ subscription via Digicel+

Getting issues connecting to Netflix or to speed test sites although Google and YouTube still working.

But somehow if I switch to the 5Ghz SSID everything works.

Have no idea what going on.

^ sounds like the weird middle region where the 5Ghz signal is weak but can still give acceptable throughput, while the 2.4Ghz signal has relatively better reception but not enough throughput to be useful.

i rebooted the digicel router and that seemed to fix it- still doesn't explain why a secondary wifi device with a separate SSID couldn't work for netflix on 2.4 but could on 5

Have a new TP Link Range Extender . It works seamlessly with Flow, tried it on Digi WPS WPS nothing. Digicel want me to rent an extender for $40/month , this extender cost approximately TT$140 any suggestions ?

Just want to give Red Network : round of applause. - 1.2GB Down and 230mb Up (over wifi - MacBook Pro) using Ubiquity Gear - 95% of the time

Stability at 100%

Their New Wifi 6 Modem (HG8145X6-6Te) has seamless dynamic IP switching so no dropped packets. I am happy now.

Those upgrades paid off.

Yep. You should. Tell them your issues and you would like to have the newer modem with wifi 6

My Internet cuts off seeming randomly at times, but noticed every evening during the week around 6:57pm.

Usually outage lasts a minute or so, so not a big deal unless I'm in an online game.

Not sure how to resolve this...

Check your IP address before it changes. Most likely you're experiencing Dynamic IP switching every 24hrs. For me it's every 48hrs. What ever time you reboot or experience an outage it would cycle exactly 24hrs/48hrs from that time. You will experience slight interruption . With the newer modems it seamless.

I would suggest rebooting late in the night or early in the morning so it won't affect you

Anybody getting their service cut off and coming back by itself multiple times within the hour? First time I ever seen the red light for loss of signal show up on the router. I’m assuming is upgrades or degraded fiber connection.

I’ve heard a few people say that. Luckily for me service wasn’t disrupted often like that. But people say the same thing about flow too. Is only recently I had a short one off thing but today was annoying. What I have noticed is that at times streaming bandwidth is affected by more buffering depending on the source.

Ngl though, I have mostly gotten almost zero buffering most times pirating 4k HDR content.

My aunt and my mom both had problems and couldn't tune into the Parade of the Bands. Had to send her a FB link as qe were about to cross d stage.

I was wondering if it could have been Carnival trucks pulling down fiber but that would affect internet as well but it wasn't affected.
