Nah ,they have for metal . I use them all the time to drill out spot welds .

I always thought they were for wood because the main part cutting edge is pretty much flat and not angled like a regular drill bit.

i never come across a specific 1 for those types of spilt point bits though all of all us probably heard of a drill doctor which cost like 4-5 times d price of a good set of bits

when these titanium do get dull i give it a lil touch up with a abrasive disc on a grinder\sander & it starts back to cut\drill ...
