Downgrade iPhone 3G 3.1.3 Baseband 05.12.01 With Fuzzyband

* Downgrading works from any version greater than 4.26.08. It will put your baseband back at version 4.26.08 which is hackable by ultrasn0w.
* Downgrading only works on iPhone 3G with 05.08 (5.8) Bootloader from the factory. This is a very limited number of phones that were released in the first few weeks of the 3G production cycle.
* If you do not know your bootloader then you can run Fuzzyband and it will report the version number for you.
* iPhone 3GS and large numbers of iPhone 3G aren’t supported by the Fuzzyband, so in case your baseband is updated then wait for Dev team/GeoHot to release any workaround. This may take weeks or months.

2 questions.

I wanna sync my iPhone but don't wanna lose my apps on the phone( this being the first time I'm connecting this iPhone to my pc). Is there anyway around this?

2. What can I use to import sim contacts from the sim onto my mobile? I forgot the name lol

I think your apps should sync fine even if you havent ever synced before, try authorizing the computer first or it may even ask you a question if you want to transfer your purchases to this computer.

Once your SIM is installed go into settings > mail, contacts, calander and scroll to the bottom and click Import SIM Contacts, should help

Just untick "sync applications" and iTunes will not touch your apps. But once you are authorized (i was using 9.0.3) it will sync/update/transfer apps to the pc and you will not lose apps. Just make sure and go through the list and see no apps that you have there before are unticked on itunes applications tab under your iphone.

wrt to sim contacts, do what sexyicon says

help needed tuners

i have an ipod touch 3gs but i plugged in an oem 3g wall charger (without knowing) and went back to it after 5minutes and realized that it was off, and it hasnt come on since.

i tried to connect via usb but its not connecting to itunes, not coming on on, not even seeing the "usb and itunes pic on screen" which means i need to jailbreak again, but i realize its getting hot like if its charging so i disconnected it.

any assistance would be greatly appreciated

thanks

There is no such thing as a 3GS itouch buddy. and all you gotta do is go http://blackra1n.com/ and download it and click "make it ra1n" and you are on.

Good luck

If your itouch is allowed to die you will have to keep on doing this to reboot your iDevice.

Its called a tethered jailbreak :)

F0recast Released for iPhone 3.1.3 Jailbreak Info

The guy behind Sn0wbreeze – the PwnageTool for Windows has just released a new tool dubbed f0recast for iPhone OS 3.1.3 firmware. This is a nifty little tool which enables iPhone 3GS, 3G, 2G and iPod touch 1G/2G/3G users to know all they need to know about unlocking and jailbreaking their iPhone and iPod touch.

Image

F0recast will report you your iPhone or iPod touch serial number, the baseband version you running, bootloader version info, model number (whether it is MC or not), unlocking info with appropriate tool for unlocking like blacksn0w and ultrasn0w and last but not the least, whether you’re jailbreak will be tethered or not.

To use this tool, simply connect your iPhone or iPod touch with your computer when iTunes is running and then run f0recast. It will report all the necessary info off your iPhone/iPod touch.

This tool is currently available for Windows only and Mac version is not in the plans yet. F0recast is a highly recommended tool for newbie’s who initially are confused about their device being tethered or able to unlock or not.

Download f0recast here

I used it on my device and it works. Great piece of software TBH... well for n00bs like me

sorry abt dat, not 3gs i meant 3rd generation. i also meant 2nd gen bcuz the package contained a silicone case that was bigger than my touch. but everything was good until i plug in the wall charger. i saw that it began charging then i left it. i'd just came home with the charger so i was testing it. but now my screen stays black. and i cant "make it rain" bcuz it no longer connects to my pc or laptop. i've tried 2 different usb cables.

Unlock for 05.12.01 Baseband on iPhone 3.1.3 Release Seems Imminent

If you accidently updated to the stock iPhone OS 3.1.3 from iTunes and are locked out, you maybe in with a luck as an unlocking tool is said to be out soon. George Hotz has confirmed via his twitter account that he has a working exploit which can unlock the latest 05.12.01 baseband which Apple bundled when they released iPhone 3.1.3 for iPhone and iPod touch earlier this month. While no ETA was given, judging by his tweet, it may not be too long before we get the updated version of blacksn0w which can unlock 05.12.01 baseband on iPhone 3.1.3 firmware.

There has been a lot of discussion lately over the lack of Flash support in iPhone OS.

Most of the arguments presented have been about the technology being buggy, crash-prone and resource intensive. Steve Jobs has also called it a "dying technology".

However, one perspective that has largely been missed so far has been about a fundamental way in which most Flash applications operate that makes it unsuitable for use on not just the iPad or iPhone, but also on most of the touchscreen devices in the market.

According to Flash developer Morgan Adams, one of the biggest issues with Flash on touchscreen devices is the hover/mouseover event. Adams writes that most of the Flash applications available on the internet today are built with a mouse pointer based control in mind. As a result, these applications respond differently to mouse-hovering as against an actual click.

For instance, hovering your mouse pointer over a running video will bring up the media control options. However, on clicking the video, it may be paused. Adams explains that touchscreen devices are not built to recognize a mouseover as input, which means that most of the Flash files on the web today may not respond as desired to users accessing them from these devices. As Adams points out, Flash based games, maps, videos and advertisements are all prone to be affected due to this issue.

The pervasive nature of this problem means finding a solution to this for touchscreen users is both a complex and impractical proposition. Adams explains that alternate mechanisms for differentiating hovering from mouse clicks using gestures or tap based inputs needlessly complicate the experience. As he notes, even if users were to disregard the other issues with Flash, the mouse-hover problem is one that can be difficult to substitute on the touchscreen devices.

Ironically, this is also an issue that Apple has been working at. Our readers will recall a patent application filed by Cupertino earlier this year that sought to bring a proximity detection system to the iPhone/iPad touchscreen. Such a technology will enable touchscreen users substitute a simple mouseover event with an equally intuitive finger input.

also a little follow up on Vroom

Today some developer released a “payâ€

Sad thing is im not seeing it as well. Neither on iphoneil.net or beyouriphone has it again... ( see this guide) which might mean you will have to do this:

or

but im not too sure about it.

Fellas - I need some help - a padna of mine ( iPhone 3gs) upgraded to 3.1.3 now his phone is locked . Downgrading haven't helped as it kept the upgraded baseline. I have downloaded the OS for it but don't know how to format the iPhone - any help?

there's no way to downgrade the baseband unless the iphone has the older bootrom 05.08

and since there's no way to unlock the phone on the latest baseband at the moment, then he's stuck like that until the unlock becomes available or he can hope he has the old bootrom so he can downgrade the baseband so he can unlock it...

Nah he doesn't have that - so there isn't any where I can format the iPhone? How about manually removing the battery or change the memory
