anything that won movie of the year.
and any of the long ones too

Drama:
Shawshank Redemption
Braveheart
Last of the Mohicans
Gladiator
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
The Godfather Movies
Ghandi
Platoon
The Pianist
Shindler's List

good comedies would include some of Mel Brooks movies (classic stuff)
Airplane series
Canonball Run series (now those were funny)
Naked Gun
Then again I like slapstick which isn't always everyone's kettle of fish.

Action:
Expendables
Lethal Weapon series
Die hard series

i still haven't seen Shawshank Redemption, supposed to be a really good one.

Fight Club was so-so IMO, didn't really enjoy it.
Expendables was nothing special either, there was nothing new to the usual plot of a bunch of gun toting guys shooting up a crime ring.

i forgot to add:
The departed
The town
Hero (jet li........not realistic, but still a good plot)

I was trying to be coy about it

No but seriously these movies are good and that bridges movie despite being targeted at kids and adolescents was kind of sad, and teaches you about loyalty to friends, and if you are unfaithful to your girl she'll die from drowning.

Since most would list 'recent' movies, here some old school. Because they're old don't mean they're not amongst the greatest of all time.

The Great Escape - Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Garner, James Coburn
The Dirty Dozen - Lee Marvin
Guns Of Navarone - Anthony Quinn
The Magnificent Seven - Steve McQueen,Yul Brynner, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Eli Wallach
The Good, The Bad, And the Ugly - Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, Eli Wallach
Dirty Harry - Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson
The Poseidon Adventure - Gene Hackman
Ben-Hur - Charlton Heston
The Ten Commandments - Charlton Heston, Yul Bryner
King Of Kings
Bullet - Steve McQueen
Papylon - Steve Mc Queen, Dustin Hoffman
Primal Fear - Richard Gere, Edward Norton
A Time To Kill - Matthew McConaughey, Samuel L. Jackson, Sandra Bullock
The Usual Suspects - Gabriel Byrne,Kevin Spacey, Stephen Baldwin

And for the kix:
Young Frankenstein (You all have to see Igor!)
Blazing Saddles
Spaceballs
Robin Hood: Men In Tights
Airplane
Hot Shots Part Deux

BOOM!

The King & I (1956)
The Sound of Music (1965)
Passion of the Christ (2004)
Ben Hur (1959)
Star Trek 2 - The Wrath of Khan (1982)
Mary Poppins (1964)

Again all movies which do not damn God nor take Jesus' name in vain.
