that would be a 200% increase in their workload,
not many people in this world will do that for long......
however they may just delay for delaying sake

the company i work for stipulated a few months ago that we must have our company id badges on display when entering the compound at the security points. i had to scramble to find mine but the security gave me 'ah bligh' and said 'nex time'. i tell she that give it two weeks and and that would die down. guess what... just over one week it took before security stopped checking for id's.

it is our policy to have our company id's to be displayed at all times in the compounds, and every two years there is a drive to have that complied with, and it lasts for two weeks.... every time.

Dear Valued TRINIDAD & TOBAGO Customers,

As you may be aware our country’s current State of Emergency has necessitated increased security procedures, the most recent being T&T’s Customs & Excise Division instituting “100% inspection of ALL packages”.

Customs & Excise commenced with this on Wednesday of this week and it has understandably significantly lengthened the Customs clearance process.

This unfortunately delays our receipt of your packages to then deliver to you and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused while this remains in effect.

The management and staff

E Couriers Ltd.

.

^^^ This is mostly pr propaganda if it relates to Air Cargo....

As a senior representative/custodian for three (3) customs bonds in the airport , the only thing that affects courier cargo is the fact that with the Curfew hours less courier companies work overnight for customs clearances hence increased delivery times. Customs not doing hundred percent on everything!! Simply impossible if you can understand what 100% means for customs examination, ie comparing every item in every package with its supplied invoice/packing list. Courier companies bring dozens of bags containing hundreds of pieces daily.... It just not gonna happen based on the available resources.
