since the removal of the curfew there has been an increase in the number of crimes that go unreported,
within the last 2 weeks of curfer being removed the theft of Dinghys and boat engines has started back during previous curfew hours.

Jailing of Robocop unlawful, says lawyer
THE lawyer for Selwyn "Robocop" Alexis—who was arrested at his Enterprise supermarket Monday night—intends filing a writ of habeas corpus to win his release.
Attorney Joseph Honore said Alexis was made to kneel by police officers and soldiers who searched his home and business for weapons and drugs, using sniffer dogs.
He said the detention of Alexis, who was at the Belmont Police Station up to late yesterday, was unlawful. Honore claimed that the station diary at the Belmont Police Station recorded Alexis's detention not as an arrest but for "safe keeping".
The arrest of Alexis, reportedly led by Southern Division Police officers, came a week after he was freed on a murder charge in the Chaguanas Magistrates' Court.
The arrest of Alexis was considered by many in law enforcement as the biggest catch of the State of Emergency.
He had been taken in handcuffs from an apartment at the One Woodbrook Place apartment complex the night of August 30, a week after Government declared a State of Emergency and curfew.
A week later he was charged with the October 7, 2008 murder of Vincent Simmons, at Nimblett Street, Enterprise.
However, Alexis's lawyers obtained audio and video tapes along with transcripts of conversations featuring the witness whose evidence was used to charge Alexis.
The defence evidence, handed over to Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard, showed that the witness had lied about Alexis's involvement in the murder.
As a result, last Friday, prosecutor State attorney George Busby appeared in the Chaguanas Magistrates' Court and said no evidence would be offered against Alexis, who was released.
Busby said the case was now the subject of a police investigation.
The subject of the probe is the false witness, and whether he could be charged with perverting the course of justice.
The Express was told the arrest of Alexis has nothing to do with the investigation, and was unknown to many senior officers, including head of the Anti Corruption Investigation Bureau Supt Solomon Koon Koon Koon.
