I had a chopper and still have the frame hung in our store room but mine didnt have a gear shifter though, and the first thing i learned from riding that bike was never try to do a wheelie with it lol still have the marks on my back tuh prove it. Had a BMX after but i dunno what became of it...

I had small bikes big bikes medium bikes, used to build them from scratch yo!.. spoke by spoke and spray paint at the paint shop! had bmx - all sizes, 10 speed, old-man benz/ canefield bike, and my most precious grifter built and modified from ground zero up!.. Im quit sure it was at the time the best in d country :) ... To bad I didn't have it long enough to take a pic of it .Used to wash ,dry with car cloth, polish with prestone and autosol an den leave it in the sun for all to admier..lol. Ah gone ah cooking in the village an come back an bike nowhere to be found!.. :( .... Grifter was a sweet metallic green with broad chrome rims with the lil rise where the spoke went into the rim, wrapped in motocross tyres and chrome short water guards over the wheels. Had aluminium brakes handles and brake holders (shiny red color) . Had these big red and yellow round reflectors for the wheels that looked like fire in the night! 52 teeth gear wheel and 12 teeth stationary sprocket (speed!). bought new chrome power handle and fork for it with red stunt pegs (fork had to be modified to fit) . had red matching brake cables, flashing lights , siren (car alarm siren) , chrome -rock back seat pole, and some chrome accessories that everyone wanted to know where it got them from.. Truth is I used to work on a chicken farm in the early teens and got these super shiny aluminium ummm lets say strips that were shaped to fit on the double bars to the bottom of the bike.. So I put one on each side. Those shiny strips were one of the main game changer that made my bike spectacular compared to the rest cause they looked awesome cause they actually had a consistent cut out design on them.. ohh I also bought a chrome aluminium an black rubber stand for the bike (was the shitz yo).. Well that's my two cents.. hope yiu all enjoyed the long reading lol.. And if yuh see mih bike send mih ah pic an directions nah..lol

I buss my arse in front of some ladies trying to do ah wheelie on de grifter. Duss mehself off and promptly rode home. Really don't know what happened to them bikes after 85. When I returned from studying abroad I brought back a nishiki road race bike. Hung it up in the garage and ah piper stole it that night lol.

chopper was fun...the back flip was not...

then bmx days....cousin cut and joined a bmx...making it long as a car...

had some nasty crashes with that.....then went on to 4 wheel rides

wish some of these lazy arse kids nowadays cld experience that level of fun

Paint it over in 'rising sun yellow'...they nah touch eet after.

Had a chopper...was my present for passing common entrance actually....but all my cousins had BMX so I was too shame to ride with them. If only I knew then what I know now about the power of individuality.

Rassey , I never had Skyway rims my brother did . First ramp was a door on some bricks . It was a no fear ramp , ride too slowly and the chain wheel or pedals would make you do a face plant . Naturally we started this on a grass surface . Ramp height was about 2.5 to 3 feet , you'd better know how to land and we moved to the asphalt . Practiced the more flat land tricks like endos and the bunny hops , cherry picker needed some thing close , in case of a fall.

The GT pro performer was the Ferrari of BMX bikes but im many bmx views Haro bikes were the ultimate . My bike was a knock off of a Mongoose Expert that also came with the Sumo alloys . Speed like that . The gearing made take off a forearm pulling , thigh pumping experience , however once you got going it was fast .
