After the Ferguson incident in the USA a major discussion was on the militarization of the US police with military grade weapons and vehicles. Guess we doing what we know best and copying the Americans.

Outside of the Independence Day parade, what practical use would those vehicles serve?

They seem useless for the average hotspot's narrow roads and hillside footpaths our criminals excel in using as getaway routes.
