The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines donated by the US government is expected to arrive in this country at 8:15 am on August 12th. The announcement was made by the Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs in a press release today. The following is the full press release:

The Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs welcomes the scheduled arrival of 305,370 doses of WHO-approved Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines from the Government of the United States of America.

The vaccines are due to arrive at the Piarco International Airport at 8:15am on Thursday 12th August 2021. This arrival marks the largest consignment of donated vaccines to arrive in Trinidad and Tobago since the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The particulars of this generous donation from the US Government are the result of sustained dialogue, diplomacy, and negotiations involving the Government of the United States of America, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, other CARICOM Member States, the CARICOM Secretariat, the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), and Pfizer.

Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley, in his capacity as the then Chairman of CARICOM, initiated and lead this effort to secure vaccines on behalf of Trinidad and Tobago and CARICOM. Minister Browne expressed the heartfelt appreciation of the Government and People of Trinidad and Tobago to the Government and People of the United States of America.

Minister Browne noted the critical roles played by Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Dr. Keith Rowley, the President of the United States of America Joseph Biden, the Secretary General of CARICOM Ambassador Irwin LaRoque, the Executive Director of CARPHA Dr. Joy St. John, the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Port of Spain Shante Moore, and Ambassador Anthony Phillips-Spencer and other members of the Trinidad and Tobago team in Washington, D.C.

The Government of Trinidad and Tobago specially acknowledges the advocacy mobilised by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US Members of Congress James Clyburn, Maxine Waters, Bennie Thompson, and Gregory Meeks in facilitating this donation of vaccines from the US Government to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. The Government of Trinidad and Tobago continues the acquisition of WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines for the population, and the Ministry of Health will be utilizing these vaccines within its national vaccine rollout.

It's mainly for secondary school students.

Some business are more concerned with vaccinations than mask wearing.

And then they will cry and question why if and when we get lockdown again.

It is imperative that we heavily invest in measures to stop the spread of viruses. Not take a jab and relax.

It’s easier to fire someone for not wearing a mask than not taking a vaccine.

What do you have in place?

For one, i cannot force my employees to take a vaccine, but following the protocols is heavily emphasized.

Control the spread of germs and you control the virus.

Today the United States Government has announced the donation of 305,370 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine out of a total 907,920 to be donated to the people and government of Trinidad and Tobago.

The nearly 908,000 doses the United States has committed to donating to Trinidad and Tobago will constitute 77 percent of all vaccines donated to Trinidad and Tobago since deliveries started in February. The Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine approved for use in children as young as 12 years old.

All of the vaccines that the United States Government donates are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. These are the same vaccines that all Americans can receive and are the same doses the United States is sharing globally. Scientific teams and legal and regulatory authorities from both countries and the region have worked together to ensure the prompt delivery of safe and effective vaccines to the region.

I did, a few times. I checked it so much I started crying. We getting 908,000 doses.

8:15am tomorrow we getting 305,000 doses. That is the first tranche.

The US embassy statement says the 908,000 doses represent 77% of all the donations to T&T.
908k/0.77= 1.179 Million doses donated to T&T by all countries, by the Embassy calculation.

take back out the 908k from the US and the total from "other countries" is 271k.
which is correct from my rough calculations:
100k from China +
82k from Canada +
40k from India +
49k from CARICOM.

so the US Embassy figures checking out at 908k doses for T&T.

The total for CARICOM is 5.5 million, not 897k. The 897k is what coming tomorrow in the first tranche of the 5.5 million.
