Ok but really think you should upgrade yr test kits. It may cost more but brands such as Salifert, Elos and even API would be alot more reliable. And test kits DO have expiry dates.

Is yr 3ft a fish only or a reef tank? If its a fish only u need not worry about pH that much. I say check yr parameters again with another test kit to verify yr results.

ehh............... sharkman, you kinda mad

Check out the links i posted previously, ull get some good reading material on how to cure liverock, seed dead rock what to use, how long it takes etc.

another problem i have is that my ph not goin above 7.7 and i using this kent marine buffer and it almost finish can you guys help me asap????

and i am setting up a 8 foot tank with a 5 foot sump sum guidance would be greatly apprecitated

FIRST THINGS FIRST..........
1) WHY ARE YOU USING A BUFFER IN THE FIRST PLACE.
2) ARE YOU USING RO/DI WATER.
3) WHAT SALT ARE YOU USING.
4) DO YOU ALREADY HAVE THE TOBAGO ROCK IN THE TANK?

i went in d mall n i ask one a my padner n he say da kent marine will raise d ph
i using rain water currently i will get a ro/di unit next mth
i using tetra marine salt and the rock from tobago out of water currently

thats the first problem............. rain water is a no no.

well if you using buffer and it not working, then you need to do some gradual water changes. do like some 10-15% changes every couple days. if you raise it too quickly, things will go into shock. where you located

What you can do is put it to soak in fresh water and scrub it out for a couple days while changing the water often. then you can give it to fireball for him to drop for me or you can drop it. i'll put it in my tubs outside and things will go forth

check your PM boss, i tell you call me since after 2pm.
Placement of mushrooms are low, like on your base rock or below ledges. they dont require much light or heavy water flow. Temps must be below 84F. if you have a chiller well then you good to go. If you have certain triggers, angels and other non reef safe fish.............. then you can safely say "YOU HAD MUSHROOMS"

Yeah man my temps reach about 86F. I have a lot of mushrooms, LPS, SPS and a clam as well. Everything seems to be doing fine. Once you you have some light just drop a couple shrooms and see what happens. They real hard to kill.
Honda the piece left back after I cut off the mushroom already grew back to a full mushroom again. Them things real hard.
