Freehold: land which can conveyed to another onwner and is registered in their name. It is their property and they posess all rights to it.

Leasehold: land that belongs to someone (person, state, company etc) that allows another to occupy the property for an agreed period of time.

State land: land owned by the government. They posess all rights to it including giving rights to squatters who have resided on it for a stipulated period of time.

What are the complications in acquiring state land with a house on it?

If the house was there for a while, then i guess u can apply for ownership

Best bet is to check the Land Settlement Agency

i suppose u can buy the house, not the land. the best thing would be to have the current owner go thru the rigmarole of getting regularized or cert of comfort, and then buy. otherwise it's not a good idea, only buying trouble.

consult an attorney for advice and LSA.

Poor foundation job?check to see if building sinking,or if wall not tied together properly, only solution is mash down and start over.

importance of piling and proper foundation with right steel. also the ring beam should be a proper beam with steel to hold in case of any movement.

in this specific case sometimes masons don't cast the lintol over the window long enough extending over the sides. also was 1/4" steel used every third block height and in the vertical of the window sides?

steel is the strength of a structure but unfortunately ppl cut corners to save a few dollars when the reinforcing steel is less than 3% of the building cost.

Can someone tell me what would be the average cost to block up a foundation 25ft x 30ft one bedroom , toilet and bath, kitchen , living room up to ring-beam? Also what would be the price to plaster afterwards. Just looking for an idea on price range. Thanks much in advance

Anyone ever considered or actually built a Shipping Container Home? Been looking at this recently, lots of nice designs online. Not sure if it'll be town and country approved etc... Any advice?

met a guy who did this...when i saw the house, i didnt believe it was shipping containers

he put them some distance apart and built up the middle with some metal doors and stuff ( he is a welder), then he put up his big roof to cover it all....inside he put laminated wood flooring and gypsum roof...he is a Christian, so some famous Christian artworks he printed out and put on his roof, because he put an arch in his ceiling...and put i think its called bevel board on the outside.....

inspired me to wanna do it

Thread just got jacked by people wanting to do stuff they will not really do, as appose to people who are actually doing stuff and asking question that will help others.

Deckpan/horizontal I beams works out almost 50% cheaper these days if you use concrete columns as the supports & a pulley system to hoist the I beams.
Around $100k material and labour vs $150k

^ depends on the person and what they are giving you (approvals etc). I paid 6k for a 35*50 2 story complete with septic drawings, roof details, plumbing etc. so 10k seems a bit high
