Good Day, Good Everything, People of Paradise,

- TS 'Chantal' has been named well close and past 50 W. Longitude.
Be wary, it's not a drill. Weather should be fair for 4 - 8 Hours even in Barbados for non-panic preparation.

- "CALCULATE" A worst - case - scenario !!!
Then break-up your 'bucket - brigade' modules into better and better positions and situations.

- Hint: (possible worst-case-scenario) Include slowing up, include as already done, a more southerly transit, include, in reality, the tail will have no SAL dry air and will be venomous.

"Other than that we agree with the following for T&T, just for today."

Despite dry air and wind shear, it is unbelievable that this cloud mass has
been able to organize so quickly and is now a force to be reckoned
with.Although the cone does not include Trinidad and Tobago we have to be alert
for heavy rainfall from this system could trigger severe flooding and landslips

Barbados ...direct in chantal's path..wtf.....

Watch out for Storm Chantal
ODPM warns:

By Gyasi Gonzales gyasi.gonzales@trinidadexpress.com
Story Created: Jul 8, 2013 at 9:54 PM ECT
Story Updated: Jul 8, 2013 at 11:34 PM ECT
Trinidad and Tobago should have experienced heavy rains last night into this morning, although the islands are not in the direct path of Tropical Storm Chantal.
The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) is however urging citizens today to pay attention to this storm.
Up to last night the third named tropical storm which formed in the Atlantic this year was making a beeline towards Barbados, while Dominica, St Lucia, Martinique and Guadeloupe had all issued tropical storm warnings. A tropical storm watch has also been issued for St Vincent and the Grenadines and Puerto Rico.
By midday yesterday the governments of both Barbados and St Lucia had begun issuing guidelines to their citizens. St Lucia began closing all of its schools until Wednesday while Barbados was advising its fisher-folk to seek shelter in Bridgetown.
In Barbados, senior meteorological officer Clairmonte Williams said the storm was moving fast, and on its present path the centre of the storm should pass slightly to the north of Barbados after sunrise today.
“We’re looking at moderate to heavy showers, scattered thunderstorms and winds, we expect to be gusting up to storm force,” Williams said, adding that storm force winds were estimated at 60 miles away from the centre.
In Barbados, supermarkets, hardware stores and other supplies stores were filled with people trying to get last minute non-perishable food items, batteries, flashlights and other necessary supplies to ride out the fast-approaching Chantal.
Meanwhile, in Trinidad and Tobago the chance of Chantal’s full impact being felt will be slim. With winds so far recorded in the vicinity of 45 miles per hour Trinidad and Tobago may be spared Chantal’s full brunt but the ODPM advises that the country may not be able to avoid the potentially destructive rains that are expected to accompany this storm.
The Met Services further advised that, “Tropical Storm force winds are expected to extend outward up to 95 km from the centre and since some strengthening to Chantal is forecast during the next 24 hours.”
The Met Services added that, “Given the proximity of its centre of passage, Chantal may bring instability to weather conditions in the form of showers or thundershowers in the least or feeder band activity with heavy showers and thundershowers at worst.”
According to the local Met Office, the weather is expected to improve between tonight and tomorrow morning while Thursday is expected to be sunny and breezy.
Flight cancellations
CARIBBEAN Airlines flights between Trinidad and Tobago today have been cancelled as Tropical Storm Chantal approaches the region.
The airline has also advised passengers to keep an eye on its website and Facebook page to monitor any further changes to its flight schedules as the passage of the storm was expected to cause a minor disruption in its services.
The Airline’s Communication Specialist Clint Williams said, “We don’t anticipate any major disruption.”
The airline’s website announced that flight BW 410 from Trinidad to Barbados which was scheduled for today was cancelled while flight BW 411 from Barbados to Trinidad has also been cancelled.
CAL also stated that today, flight BW 434 from Trinidad to St Lucia has been delayed to 3.55 p.m. while flight BW 435 from St Lucia to Trinidad has been delayed to 5.30 p.m.
LIAT has also cancelled the following flights as a result of the closure of the George F Charles Airport in St Lucia:
LI 771 - Antigua/St. Lucia
LI 771 - St. Lucia/Barbados
LI 308 - Trinidad/St. Lucia
LI 308 - St. Lucia/Antigua
LI 310 - St. Vincent/St. Lucia
LI 310 - St. Lucia/Dominica
LI 370 - Barbados/St. Lucia
LI 370 - St. Lucia/Martinique
LI 560 - St Vincent to Grenada is also cancelled.
LIAT added that “passengers travelling from Antigua to Barbados on LI 771 and also LI 560 Grenada to Barbados should proceed to the airport as scheduled.”
Passengers travelling in and out of Dominica, Martinique, St. Vincent and Barbados are advised that there may be disruptions at those airports depending on the progress of the tropical storm, the airline said.
