This enables users with jailbroken iPhones to create their own set of dyld_shared_cache files that have completely different library load addresses from every other iPhone in the world,” Esser wrote in an email. “This is already a better ASLR than what exists on Snow Leopard because different applications can use different shared caches and therefore different load addresses.

Google Latitude for iPhone is Now Available for Download !
Originally available as a web app only, the official Google Latitude app for iPhone is now finally available for download in the iTunes App Store. For those of you don’t already know, Latitude helps you see where your friends are right now. It also helps you stay in touch with your friends and family by making it easy to share where you are by seeing each other visually on a map.
With Latitude, you can:
* See your friends on a map – find out who’s nearby and meet up.
* Share your location continuously with whomever you choose – help friends and family stay in touch with you, even when you can’t take out your phone.
* Control your privacy – share only city-level location, hide your location, or turn off background updating at any time.
Google Latitude for iPhone also takes advantage of background-ing capability available in iOS 4.x and above. So even if the app is closed or if your screen is turned off, Latitude will continue to update your location in the background.
Google Latitude for iPhone is available for free, and can be downloaded from iTunes App Store.http://www.redmondpie.com/download-google-latitude-for-iphone/

Here is Why Cydia Is Called As Cydia..
By Fahad Khan | December 17th, 2010
Cydia is a household name amongst the jailbreak community, but what does the word really mean? and why was it called that? Those of you who have jailbroken iOS devices are very likely to have used Cydia. The credit for this store which brings extra unrestricted functionality to our iOS devices goes to Jay “saurik” Freeman, who happens to be the brains behind this concept.
Cydia is used by millions of iPhone users and may be a very well known application, but not many people know what it means. Cydia is interestingly enough, named after a moth of all things! The Cydia pomonella to be precise, is the scientific name for the “coddling moth” or what is more commonly known as the stereotypical Apple worm.
According to Wikipedia, the Cydia pomonella “has proved to be a problematic pest on several fruit trees, including apples and pears. The caterpillars burrow into the fruit, rendering it un-sellable”. The ironic name of Cydia is therefore fitting, since it has turned out to be quite the worm to Apple’s devices. With each successive iOS release, the term “jailbreak” is becoming more prevalent amongst the average user and that can only be a good thing for development of the replacement packaging and repository manager.
So now you know, the vital tool for your iOS devices jailbreak is named after a moth that is a pest for fruit trees, such as those of apples (fruit) and Apple Inc.

bess almera wrote:its the 3gs i was running 3.1.3. i've used the redsn0w it uploaded ram and kernel and said done. the phone was goin tru the process and listing a whole set of code...then it displayed please wait...then a small white box appeared in the top left of the screen and the circle loader appeared in the middle and it stuck again until i placed it back into dfu mode.
I made a trip to the Apple Store today to get an iPad for my old lady (Christmas present). She told me she’d love it jailbroken, so I sat down in front of my computer to redsn0w this 4.2.1 iPad.
One problem–redsn0w 0.9.6b6 could not upload a pwned iBSS (hanged at the white screen on OS X, upload timed out and rebooted into jailed state with Windows).
Furthermore, the device constantly stalls when attempting to dump its bootrom. This leads me to believe the injection vector used via USB has been patched in DFU mode.
Case in point: Any iOS device with a serial number xx050 (this week) or higher might be unable to be jailbroken via the limera1n exploit. Slightly older devices may be invulnerable as well.
