I referenced you and told him to do that also but he said he's getting the same problem it's probably something simple he's overlooking because there isn't anything complicated in jailbreaking an ipod touch

you need to mod/patch your commcenter i believe. If it doesnt work I'm sorry. I use it on my 3GS though.

http://modblog101.wordpress.com/2011/03/17/iphone-carrier-plist-mods-detailed/

that has all the info you need, look for wortel's patch k. good luck.

its just logs i presume.
they will hopefully do the 3GS what they did <-3G/ipt2g, let iOS 5 out and make it perform slow and then just stop updating it.

Use the ones made by pwnagetool. aka this one

I just emailed him to confirm if it doesnt update the baseband to 06.15, as the sn0wbreeze ones do. so DONT use the sn0wbreeze ones. if u want u can wait til i get a reply from him.

After he RESTORE (using shift + restore) to this custom firmware, get SAM and activate it in case he gets the battery drain.

TBH, 4.2.1 working excellent and they are saying 4.3.x has even worse battery life than 4.2.x so... i dont think ill be updating.

Good luck!

He's saying he's having trouble restoring. I think he would have to use the unactivated one, since he's on Bell (Canadian carrier). Correct me if I am wrong.

what sort of trouble? i used this last night and no issues. Odd. He used iReb with it?
Use iReb with it to get the pwned DFU mode and then restore. :)
He can try the unactivated one if bell is the legit carrier for his iPhone. The BB /should/ remain intact.

Safari 5.1 in Mac OS X Lion adds a new window-integrated downloads popup menu with behavior that appears to be borrowed from iPad.

Safari's existing Downloads window, which lists every document, disk image or other file you've downloaded through the browser, is still there can be displayed using the Windows/Downloads menu option.

However, after your first download in the new version, a new icon appears to the right of the URL and Search fields in the Safari toolbar. Clicking the button reveals a list of previous downloads and the current progress of each active download, which are displayed in an iPad-like popup menu.

The icon itself presents a progress bar that fills in as downloads complete. As with the conventional Downloads window, the integrated new popup control provides links to file or disk image downloads that have completed, including a "find" icon that reveals the item in the Finder.

Popup menus were added to iOS to support an efficient way to present a variety of options or controls which might appear in a desktop application's floating palette windows.

On the iPad, this makes options easy to select via touch gestures, and easy to open and dismiss palettes of selections, without requiring a complex multi-windowing environment more suited to a mouse-based interface.

In Mac OS X Lion, the same types of popup menus are being used to similarly simplify the interface while still making the presentation of a variety of options possible. Apple previously adopted popup menu panels in iCal, which tie event settings and details directly to the event's scheduled time in the calendar.

After weeks of rumor mongering and days of dried up channel inventory, Apple on Tuesday finally refreshed its iMac family. The signature aluminum and glass design remained unchanged, but a look under the hood reveals the latest Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5 and i7 processors from Intel, the new high-speed Thunderbolt I/O interface developed in co-operation with Intel, a FaceTime HD camera and storage upgrades across the board.

The 21.5-inch models have one Thunderbolt port and 27-inchers have two. Apple says the new processors deliver up to 70 percent faster performance while AMD graphics with “a powerful new media engine for high-performance video encoding and decoding” is responsible for a threefold jump in performance over the previous generation.

Phil Schiller wrote:Our customers love the iMac’s aluminum enclosure, gorgeous display and all-in-one design. With next generation quad-core processors, powerful new graphics, Thunderbolt technology and a FaceTime HD camera, we’ve made the world’s best desktop even better.

The new FaceTime HD camera supports high-def video calling between all FaceTime HD-enabled Macs and standard-resolution calls with iPad 2, iPhone 4, the current-generation iPod touch and other Intel-based Macs. This refresh has brought the quad-core performance of the Intel Core i5 processors to the entire family, with an option to upgrade to a Core i7 chip up to 3.4GHz.

Four new SKUs have replaced the previous models with two 21.5-inch and two 27-inc computers, beginning with the $1,199 entry-level 2.5GHz 21.5-incher and all the way up to the flagship $1,999 27-inch iMac with a 3.1GHz processors.

The 21.5-incher is available in two variants: one with a 2.5 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, AMD Radeon HD 6750M and 500GB hard drive and the other with a 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, AMD Radeon HD 6770M and 1TB hard drive.

The flagship 27-inch machine also comes in two flavors: Either a 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with AMD Radeon HD 6770M graphics and 1TB hard drive or a 3.1 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with AMD Radeon HD 6970M graphics and 1TB hard drive. Custom configurations include a faster 3.4GHz Intel Core i7 processors, additional 2TB hard drive, a 256GB solid state drive, additional DDR3 memory and AppleCare Protection Plan.

All new models cost the same as previous models and include 4GB of RAM, IPS display technology for sharp image at wide viewing angles, an SD card slot supporting high-capacity SDXC memory cards, the wireless Apple Keyboard and Magic Mouse and more.

If you’re a Chrome fan and love experimenting with early releases, Google has you covered with Chrome Canary for Mac. Arriving nine full months following the Windows release in August of last year, the new Canary for Mac channel is live with pre-developer builds of Chrome. You know what that means: Highly unstable code, features that come and go, potential security-related problems and headache in general.

On the upside, however, you’ll get access to experimental new capabilities as they’re being developed, not all of which end up in the developer version or trickle down to beta or stable builds. If you’re willing to take the plunge and peer around technological corners for a sneak peek of what’s next in web browsing, why not download Google Chrome Canary for Mac and take it for a spin.

This being a work-in-progress affair, you’re advised to not use this build for your daily workflow and instead install Chrome Canary alongside your existing version of Chrome. Your Canary data remains separate of beta, developer or stable builds you may have installed. You can set up the Sync feature in each version of Chrome that you use to continue using the same set of bookmarks, extensions, themes and other browser items and settings. According to a post on Google’s Chromium blog, Canary build is currently at version 13, as opposed to the Dev and Beta channels that are using version 12 or the current stable version of Chrome which is labelled 11.

you would probably have to mod the folder with the theme or i think there was a app in cydia (wasnt free) to customize themes cant remember it off hand. I hate themes as its basically rice. LOL

SRASC, i coulda swear i mention that before... probably not here tho :(

An AT&T customer service rep says Apple has informed the company that there will be no new iPhone models released in June/July, according to a MacRumors forum member. The individual contacted AT&T to inquire about why his upgrade eligibility was pushed back for several months.

Apple has informed us that they do not plan to release the iPhone in the June to July timeframe, though there will be a newer version in the future. Unfortunately, we have not been given a release time for the new phone. We will release this information on our website when it is available to us.

Typically customer services representatives don't have access to this type of information; however, this does align with previous reports.

Sounds like the nail in the coffin (as far as a June/July release) to me

------

Remember when case maker G-Form recently threw a 12 lb. bowling ball at the iPad which was protected with their extreme sleeve?

Yeah, these are the same guys that dropped an iPad from 500 feet just to show off how sturdy their custom-built protective sleeves and cases are.

Well, they’re back at it with a new stunt involving a MacBook Pro. The video, which stars Tom Cafaro, shows off the the MacBook Pro G-Form Extreme Sleeve for Laptops, which is available in 11, 13 and 15-inch varieties.

And what better way to demonstrate than dropping a 13-inch notebook off a balcony, from a considerable height. The computer landed flat and survived, thanks to Poron Xrd, a marketing name for a custom material used inside the sleeve’s outer shell that absorbs the force upon impact. The MacBook Pro G-Form Extreme Sleeve for Laptops is available in black and yellow. It will set you back $69.95 for the 11-inch model or ten bucks more for both 13- and 15-inch models.

About iOS 4.3.3 Software Update

This update contains changes to the iOS crowd-sourced location database cache including:

* Reduces the size of the cache
* No longer backs the cache up to iTunes
* Deletes the cache entirely when Location Services is turned off

@ M_2nr

It's probably due to the data plan. I get a full day from mine with regular calls, a few emails and some gaming.

I hope they try to fix the GPS issue if possible with this.

i figure yes because the only thing i changed since i had a 3GS was that data plan.

I see musclenerd apparently dumped the ipad2 bootloader, or so one blog said (there was a funny lil tidbit with his post) so i think he is distracted again.
