The procurement and importation of Accuracy International AX sniper rifles is not a common occurrence in the Caribbean, making their arrival in the country, an immediate cause for concern and on the emergency agenda of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

Intelligence officials sprung into action upon learning. These weapons, known for their military-grade precision and long-range lethality, raised immediate red flags for law enforcement and intelligence agencies, triggering a multi-agency investigation involving the CARICOM Crime Gun Intelligence Unit (CCGIU), the U.S. BATFE (ATF), and local law enforcement.
Using advanced tracking systems, forensic intelligence, and cross-border cooperation, authorities were able to piece together the exacting journey of the rifles, identify those involved in the procurement process, and uncover potential breaches in security protocols.

1. THE ORIGIN OF THE SNIPER RIFLES

The investigation began when firearms intelligence officers flagged an import of Accuracy International AX sniper rifles, a highly specialized weapon not typically sold to civilian buyers in the Caribbean.

Once the rifles were traced back to their point of sale, authorities shifted focus to how they entered the country. This involved:
1. Reviewing customs declarations and import permits to determine who had authorized the shipment.

2. Checking for discrepancies in paperwork, such as missing documentation or attempts to conceal the true nature of the cargo.

3. Collaborating with international shipping databases and border control agencies to verify whether the firearms had been re-routed through another country before arriving at their destination.
Investigators discovered that the import documents appeared to be legitimate, but intelligence suggested an unauthorized alteration in the chain of custody—indicating that while the rifles entered legally, their final destination and use were not properly accounted for.

3. BALLISTIC INTELLIGENCE & FORENSIC ANALYSIS

To further validate the tracking data, law enforcement utilized the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) to test whether the sniper rifles had been previously fired or had links to any known crimes.

Authorities also began searching for the firearms dealer involved in the actual importation, who is believed to be in the country, further deepening suspicions that something was amiss.

CONCLUSION: WHAT THE INTELLIGENCE REVEALED

Through a combination of advanced firearm tracing, forensic analysis, financial intelligence, and coordinated law enforcement efforts, investigators were able to:

1. Track the sniper rifles from their point of sale to their final destination.

2. Uncover irregularities in the importation and approval process.

3. Identify key individuals involved in facilitating the transaction.

4. Expose potential security lapses in firearm procurement oversight.

As I've said before, & I'll keep on saying.
We need to make some very serious changes to the firearms act, and remove that stupidness saying the sole authority for issuing firearms licenses is the CoP.
CoP need to be removed from the firearms act, and the responsibility placed in the hands of an independent panel, as well as an appeals panel, that is obligated to:

Assess each application based on the merit of the applicant and circumstances only
Follow clearly established and publicly known qualifying criteria, no more of this if yuh pay d bribe and is according to how ah feelin bs
Follow a strict timeline for approval/denial, if not, yuh fired.
Legally bound to state in writing why an application was denied IMMEDIATELY upon rendering a decision.
Not be controlled or manipulated by the state, meaning, no mp, senator, police etc can influence whether anyone gets an FUL or not.
And most importantly, the panel will change every 3 years, after which each and every formerly serving member will be subject to an in depth audit of their personal finances, as well as of their performance in their official capacity, to ensure there is no corruption, nepotism, breaches of law, etc., for which if breaches are found is a mandatory 10 year sentence with a $1M fine.


But alas, this will never be the case, for the backward-thinking lower primates you folks call your leaders know, best way to subjugate a people, is to keep them defenseless & frightened.








Besides, what was the result of the audit on firearms section again? anybody in the service get lock up? I kno more than a few ppl had their FUL revoked, but I eh even hear nuttn about them making a jail either

I understand what you trying to say but you have to remember our biggest problem as a society is that we very laid back and highly illiterate. It have ppl that don't understand what is occurring and the ones that do just carrying about their business. Agreed. Been saying this for years. Outside of Certifucate ofcharacter and any other investigations required remove police from that. Also make FUL with an expiry so if you misbehave within 3 or 5 years it’s easy to revoke it.
