Well the head on the pumo wont really matter cuz ill get the hose to suite and use valves if necessary, im thinking the water pump should be able to at least deliver preassure 8ft high. reason being I would like to do a vertical setup later on. The air pump I know incan get at pet stores...but the water pump to?

The head height and flow rate is important. Even if you are using valves

hmmm. 8 ft head will be a stretch. and yup the pumps will be available at pet stores. most favourable for small scale hydro operations will be submersible pumps. if the pet store doesnt have a pump with that head, try bhagwansingh's or any hardware that sells pond / water fountain pumps. u took the size of the system and reservoir and flow into consideration? is it a drip bucket or ebb/flow system?

Its drip bucket....im following an instructional video I saw on youtube...6ft will do the job, I just didnt want to have to buy seperate pumps for each application.
Thanks for the help, ill check those places. The reservoir would hold at least 5 gallons of water. Im open to advise, for peppers I need a drip bucket system cuz the those plants tend to get big, but the cantelopes are a vine and a vertical setup will do me well, seeing that I dont have much space. Im dedicating a room indoor for this, I had a small kitchen garden outside and blight got the best of it. So my pepper seedlings just waiting on me to out them in hydro

I dont know about the flow rate though, it wasnt mentioned in the vid

So about lettuce and hydroponics system.
I want to start something.

Is lettuce worth it? How much does one lettuce sell for?

Their is a guy in chaguanas with 2 places, 1 at 50k sqft and the other is around 60, he said he produces around 5000 heads of lettuce every mth and sells to the groceries.

Last I checked xtra foods paid $3 for a head of lettuce and retail for $7. Hilo paid about the same and sold for about $12. Yeah it aint all that pretty unless you have a sick turnover. Same with chive. Hilo buy at about $1 $25-40/big bundle of 25) and retails for about $4 /bundle

Best bet is to add value to your product; sell 'organic' salads, make seasoning (grind or dried) or a value-added product along those lines.

Someone correct me if my wholesale prices are outdated

About correct, when groceries and wholesale buyers lock you into a contract they buy for as cheap as possible, even as low as $2.

I got my netted pots and air pumps online. The pumps definitely cheaper online. Can't remember exactly why but most likely cus I needed a lot. Check Amazon or eBay.

Is it necessary for a window system to have artificial light?

When you say hardly. What about ambient light? Your lants will grow torwards light.

And some will take a little linger to grow. But they will grow.

Try the led grow lamps. Cheaper to maintain. But you have to import it.
