Today the heavy downpour midday in Mc Bean,Couva was accompanied for a short-while by heavy winds.
The heat build-up and down pour reminds me of the occasions when local 'tornado type' event removes some roofs.Maybe we are at that time again.

You're absolutely right. The excessive heating allows for strong convection, which can lend itself to cumulonimbus formation accompanied by heavy downpours and strong downdrafts and microbursts, the destructive power of which can be similar to a tornado.
Under the right conditions, you could get a twister or hail.

Getting other reports of that tornado in Cunupia.

Rain and wind was blowing from the south, real unusual.

The kinds of heat build-up these pass few weeks are a definite signal for mayhem.
Hope the Western peninsular folks are 'ready for it'.
The elements gave at risk locations adequate warning.
