I caught them flounder before down the islands, not very common though, haven't seen one in a couple years. The flesh is very white. The local name is cunny cover, go figure....

I wanted to go hunting for large grouper or tarpon.
Was doing some research and reading on other fishing forums, and I decided to purchase some

mustad demon offset ultra-point ringed hooks 8/0

From amazon.

Tried buying a pack of 7 hooks, but amazon shipped a box containing 10 packs of 7, ie 70 hooks

Anyone want? Locally the unringed version sells for $8.00 each

$25 per 7-pack

Gotta love management... taking an official on a site visit tomorrow. Once the tide is right after the visit we'll take alil stop off in the gulf and drop some lines.

Yip, didnt have proper bait tho. A couple smallish fish was chasing mih lures, but no hook-ups. Besides fishing, there is d most beautiful beach in tobago, with the deep bon accord lagoon on your left & a huge stretch of shallow water like the nylon pool, in front. One cool thing: we kept seeing rays jumping clear out of the water in the deeper areas. A pic i took:

Love twine nets, nylon/mono just doesn't match the feel and castability. Effortless opening.

Does it work?
Any tips?

Berkley vanish works great, I use it to make leaders for banking. It a bit stiffer than regular nylon. I change my leaders every trip i make. I use with running sinkers and also to make 2 and 3 hook spellers.

I can attest to the fact that i out-fish everybody else on d boat, and i catch a wider variety of species too, fish just don't see it.
