Has the misfortune to be in a taxi playing Sunshine radio this morning (ILP station). If the retards on that station was my only news source, I would’ve sworn the entire stretch of highway collapsed, all roads are closed and the entire population of South is stranded.

All that for 5 metres of shoulder. Sensationalism at its best.

So now the standard is that even with exorbitant costs, Trini roads should should cave under normal rainfall. Heaven help us

Is the land that next to the shoulder began sliding fool, not the road or highway, take a drive and see nah.

Shouldn't the side of a recently built highway have sufficient drainage and retaining walls to not be undermined by regular rainfall? I don't need to take a drive because I've seen it myself.
A brand new highway built from scratch on virgin soil isn't just asphalt thrown where grass was it's supposed to have a sub surface thick enough with perpendicular reinforcement and drainage. Land sliding at the side isn't suppose to undermine it after a few days rain....had it been "just the land next to the shoulder" the shoulder and edge of the road surface wouldn't crack so easily.
