The US CIA started up some Russian tanks? No one attacked Russia. No one outside of Russia amassed troops on the border with Russia.timelapse wrote:Is not a respect thing.KM_2NR wrote:Russia wouldn't have pulled this if Donald was still in office. The world doesn't respect murica anymore.
Donald policy was to stay in yuh lane.

A more accurate portrayal may be the NATO's lack of aggression goaded Russian into attacking a neutral country on their border. The result? A couple of years of insurrection, Russian political upheaval, worldwide galvanization, and an marketable excuse to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

It's always amusing to see all the woke trinis supporting Russia because America = bad.
The_Honourable wrote:Nobody here (i hope) is justifying and supporting Russia's invasion into Ukraine. What we are saying is that we understand why Russia did it. Putin warned NATO about expansion over a decade ago but they didn't take him seriously and thought he was bluffing. He's an old school KGB, his worldview different.
Ukraine realizes now that they are on their own because Putin clearly could not care less about sanctions and they have virtually no military help from NATO. Whatever actions US takes, Putin could always retaliate against the EU by locking off oil and gas.
Zelensky boil down a bit and is in talks with Russia. He might even abandon the idea of joining NATO not just due to Russian demands but they pretty much were spectators.
Btw... Russia didn't do anything while Trump was in office not because of Trump's negotiation skills, Putin knew Trump is that f**ked up to nuke Moscow, tweet and have a rally about it.

The thing is, they would be a half decent military if they on a proper war footing. This war exposed so much of the current corruption and BS internally in their military.
Based on the leaked FSB files, no one seriouslu thought Putin was going to order the invasion. They believed it to be posturing for recognition of Crimea and assurances from NATO.
So it does seem the military was unprepared for an actual invasion, hence the extremely shitty logistics.
However, don't be fooled by Ukrainian and Western media narratives, Ukraine is holding out very well, but Russia is making progress and will eventually wear them down.
From there, it's still a lose lose situation for Russia because sanctions ain't being lifted. And occupation will be hard AF.
Some analysts has said this could inadvertently put Putin on a full far footing and he could try to invade more countries, even Finland, unless sanctions are lifted and annexed Ukrainian territory recognized.
That's the only way Putin can win, which is crazy AF.
