Only just went outside to check on my pups, seeing a nice lightning show south of my position in San Juan. Sky clear as ever here though.............

20-35 seconds between lighting an the boom from my position

How Far Away Is Lightning From Me?
To estimate the distance between you and a lightning flash, use the "Flash to Bang" method: If you observe lightning, count the number of seconds until you hear thunder. Divide the number of seconds by five to get the distance in miles.

Example: If you see lightning and it takes 10 seconds before you hear the thunder, then the lightning is 2 miles away from you (10 divided by 5 = 2 miles).

If Thunder is heard The Lightning is...
5 seconds after a Flash 1 mile away
10 seconds after a Flash 2 miles away
15 seconds after a Flash 3 miles away
20 seconds after a Flash 4 miles away
25 seconds after a Flash 5 miles away
30 seconds after a Flash 6 miles away
35 seconds after a Flash 7 miles away
40 seconds after a Flash 8 miles away
Get to a safe location if the time between the lightning flash and the rumble of thunder is 30 seconds or less.

seems like that map was about 1hour or 2 behind ...... system directly over head now..... no more stars just red sky. Strong gusty winds in my area an ligthing to boom less than 15-25 secs. but its less frequent now.

Why do rain clouds always seem to rain themselves out over the sea before coming over Trinidad

Some rain is down....some really big drops..........lol

Finally an end to the 30 day dry spell

Central side was fairly quiet.

Is Marabella side getting it proper. Billboards rocking on the stretch after the police station, some trees have all the branches blown to one side and all those little flags as Independence day decoration on those roundabouts literally singing.

Leaf, paper, plastic and what looks like fine gravel blowing.

^ once the galvanize not looking like pigeons then you safe.

I'm worried about some galvanize I have in the backyard here that I made up a lil makeshift temporary storage shed for some construction materials. I hope it doesn't go flying away and damage anyone or their property! :skurry:

Darn, if you have wood or blocks around see if you can rest it on them (if they flat on the ground).

I have some neighbors with blocks on their roof years now and it holding down the galvanize so try it and hope Gopaul luck is Seepaul luck.
