Trump told Israel not to kill Iran's supreme leader

BBC - US President Donald Trump rejected a plan by Israel to kill Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, three US officials have told BBC's US partner CBS News.

Trump reportedly told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that assassinating Khamenei was "not a good idea", according to one official. The president has not commented publicly on the report.
The conversation is said to have happened since Israel launched its attack on Iran on Friday.

This isn't the first time - Israel just looks for an excuse to attack.
In 1981 the UN and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) condemned an attack by Israel on an IAEA-approved nuclear site in Iraq.

UN Resolution 487 (1981) / adopted by the Security Council at its 2288th meeting, on 19 June 1981.

Considering that, under the terms of Article 2, paragraph 4, of the Charter of the United Nations, all members
shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity
or political independence of any State, or in any other manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United
Nations:
    * Strongly condemns the military attack by Israel in clear violation of the Charter of the United Nations and
    the norms of international conduct;

    * Calls upon Israel to refrain in the future from any such acts or threats thereof;

    * Further considers that the said attack constitutes a serious threat to the entire safeguards regime of the
    International Atomic Energy Agency, which is the foundation of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear
    Weapons;

    * Fully recognizes the inalienable sovereign right of Iraq and all other States, especially the developing
    countries, to establish programmes of technological and nuclear development to develop their economy and industry
    for peaceful purposes in accordance with their present and future needs and consistent with the internationally
    accepted objectives of preventing nuclear-weapons proliferation;

    * Calls upon Israel urgently to place its nuclear facilities under the safeguards of the International Atomic
    Energy Agency;.

    * Considers that Iraq is entitled to appropriate redress for the destruction it has suffered, responsibility for
    which has been acknowledged by Israel;

    * Requests the Secretary-General to keep the Security Council regularly informed of the implementation of the
    present resolution.

Israel wants to use the IAEA report that Iran isn't complying as an excuse to attack Iran when Israel itself has not only never complied, but outright has IAEA UN resolutions against Israel.

A significant surge in United States Air Force aerial refuelling tankers crossing the Atlantic has prompted scrutiny from defence analysts and observers, amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.

On Sunday night, an unusually large formation of American aerial refuelling aircraft — including over two dozen KC-135 Stratotankers and KC-46 Pegasus tankers — was observed transiting eastbound from North America at cruising altitudes consistent with strategic repositioning. The volume and pattern of these flights suggest a deliberate deployment of refuelling assets, rather than routine training or ferrying operations.

This mass movement does not appear to be linked to any currently scheduled multinational air exercise such as Atlantic Trident, leading many to assess it as a pre-positioning effort in support of future operations or rapid response plans. While the precise destination of the tankers remains unconfirmed, many were observed heading toward European airspace or potentially onward to Middle Eastern bases used by US and NATO forces.

Don't get tie up. That is just games . The allied forces goin and rip Iran to shreds presently.
The shy guy talks is just to galley for time till the forces well built.

The only discrepancy between Israel and USA is the timing. USA just wanted it a tad later as they rate of manufacture is low, so long engagements will cause the munitions to run low after a two weeks.

They wanted to build up a lot of arms to go all in off the bat.
The jets also need servicing. Normally it isn't an issue but next rounds going to be so hard it will be a down time for most of their fleet right after.

The aircraft carrier USS Nimitz was leaving Southeast Asia on Monday after cancelling plans to dock in Vietnam, amid reports it is headed to the Middle East to boost the US presence in the region. At 13:45 GMT, the carrier was traveling through the Malacca Strait toward the Indian Ocean, according to Marine Traffic, a ship-tracking site.

A Vietnamese government official confirmed to AFP that a planned reception aboard the USS Nimitz on June 20, as part of the ship’s expected June 19-23 visit to Danang, had been cancelled. The official shared a letter from the US embassy announcing that the Defense Department was cancelling the event due to “an emergent operational requirement.”

Meanwhile, two US officials told Reuters on Monday that the aircraft carrier Nimitz was heading to the Middle East, although one official said the movement was pre-planned. The officials also revealed that the US military has moved a large number of refueling aircrafts to Europe to provide options to President Donald Trump as Middle East tensions soar.

I have only one concern wrt to Iran. I understand their need to retaliate and fully support their actions.
My concern is, will it end in Palestine/Israel?
Once that threat is neutralized, will it stop there?
Iran's good friend is Pakistan.
Do the math

Depends on who else starts attacking whom.
Iran has said that if the US starts attacking them they will attack US bases in the region.
Isreal will probably attack any other country that tries to attack them on behalf of Iran.

Well hey, in November 2021 Putin stated the presence of NATO long-range missiles capable of striking Russia in just five minutes was justification to pre-emptively attack Ukraine.
Somehow that was wrong, but Israel's pre-emptive strike on Iran is right.

Why are people talking about WW3? Hasn't the US been warring in the middle east for decades and it was never termed as WW3? Why should it be termed WW3 now?

People are talking about WW3 because this most recent war in the middle east is about nuclear weapons, people are saying that it might trigger WW3.
Last week Isreal decided that Iran is close to developing nuclear weapons so they set out to bomb the Iranian capital (to take out key military and scientists) and the supposed nuclear sites in Iran. Even though the US Intellegence Agency and UN said recently there was no direct evidence that Iran was working on nuclear weapons.

But Netanyahu has been saying for over 20 years that Iran was weeks away from building a nuclear bomb and each time in the past there was no evidence of that. Remember Netanyahu also convinced the US and UK that Saddam was working on nuclear weapons and had weapons of mass destruction only to realise after they attacked Iraq that Netanyahu was incorrect.

Even Piers Morgan admitted that Netanyahu specializes in "mission creep" to keep war and conflict going indefinitely.
