Wow. Really nice. My pops & grandpops never owned cars so i can't post anything.

I think my uncle used to ride a "HUMBER" bicycle back in the 1940's & 1950's. I hope that is the right brand name. No family pics though

Hol dat

from left to right - H 440, H 799 (or HB 99), HE 1030
there's a car like the one on the right in pristine condition somewhere in Longdenville. Licence plate is PE i think (wonder if it's the same car now...)

P1...where are you?

Postby shapeshop » September 18th, 2009, 12:54 pm

If it was valve less it could have been a Willys vehicle a Knight probably.I knew there was one co owned by the great Errol John in Marabella. Was a sleeve valve...had wooden spoke wheels and everything...a 4dr ragtop, was in yellow primer body was really solid....when he died 4years ago the other owner took back full possession of it....only god knows where it is now...(sigh)

P1....?

Postby shapeshop » September 18th, 2009, 4:26 pm

Errol john was a champion motorcyclist and go kart racer from the 50's and 60's had the honour of being his friend for 5 years prior to his death...His Knight was truly a really spectacular car not a piece of rust...just the soft materials needed replacement...seats, top etc. By the way, that old man I witness popping wheelie on an FZR 400 the year before he died...wow.

It was run on a mixture of Gasoline & Unrefined Oil from his company's oil wells in Tabaquite. Tabaquite also had a oil refinery in the 20's.

I will try to get a photo.

Who has a old drivers permit book ?

not sure if it was used for a taxi badge of regular permit.

but there was a book which used to be updated by stamping it.

will try to get one and scan it..
